A maxi dress is one of my favorite pieces for spring and summer. Well, who am I kidding? I may stretch most of my maxis all year long here in Texas! this one has all the makings of a long lasting piece for my closet. It has a great true to size fit with no need for a special bra, a beautiful floral pattern and it lends itself to be dressed up or down.
It is so easy to wear alone, especially on a hot Texas summer day. The gauzy fabric is lightweight but I also love that it will not show wrinkles. I will toss on a pair of wedges or flip flops and some fun jewelry and out the door I’ll go.
For the office I simply pick a blazer or my fave denim jacket to give it a little more coverage. I’m showing it off with two of my favorite blazers from last summer. I’m kind of having a moment with blazers and based on my closet the crush needs to stop but maybe not before I add one more in a linen fabric this season!
The last look is one of my very favorites. I love to take a cute tee and tie it on top of a maxi dress, giving it the look of a skirt. So cute! You could also tie a button down chambray top over this dress for even one more look.
Stretching my closet is definitely something that took time for me to figure out and I spent so much money along the way continuing to add new clothes because I only knew how to wear them one way. Now if I cannot find at least 3 different ways to wear a piece I pass.
So which is your favorite look? A maxi dress really can go a long way in your closet!
My favorite look from last week was this adorable Caite and Kyla dress posted by Jess. I really love the pieces from this brand for both quality and style. Last year I styled this precious dress and adorable embroidered top that I still love!
