Spring Essentials – Five on Friday

·

After a busy week we have zero on our calendar for the weekend and I’m hoping to use my time wisely! One item on my to do list is to switch my closet over to make my spring and summer pieces more prominent. This will definitely include a little purging but I will also evaluate what spring essentials I may need want to add.

Here are are a few items which always seem to end up in my cart this time of year!

Fun Floral & Punchy Colors

Fun floral patterns and punchy colors always catch my eye as we head into spring and summer. This little flirty skirt has been no exception! I have a feeling it will be on repeat in the coming months.

Shorts that Flatter

A versatile short to flatter my shape and allow me to mix and match with pieces I already own. For my pear shape I’ve found a 4-5″ short to be the perfect length. They aren’t too short but short enough to show off the best parts of my legs without adding bulk. I love grabbing in darker shades and this year was surprised to fall in love with the fit of this pair of drawstring shorts.

Sandals & Wedges

Wedges and sandals are definitely items I probably splurge on the most. As I’ve aged having a shoe that is comfortable is huge for me. Last year I grabbed this pair of wedges and my cart currently holds two additional colors in hopes of a sale. Note…I’ve never seen them go on sale. The biggest surprise so far has been this pair of sandals. I wanted to try the white sole fad and was so pleasantly surprised at how adorable they are on.

Lightweight Cardigans & Jackets

Working in an office can also mean while it’s 110 outside it is 68 inside. Finding lightweight cardigans to layer over cute spring tops is always an essential for me. This spring I also splurged on a precious lightweight blazer I can’t wait to wear not only to the office but dressed up with shorts for a girls night out or date night. If you follow my friend Kellyann (which you totally should!) she showed off this adorable blazer on instagram and it quickly found it’s way to my cart.

Self Tanner

For me, a huge essential is having some color on my body. While I gave up the tanning beds years ago, I really just feel more confident in summer pieces when I’m not pasty white. Self tanner always helps me get started. I’ve used the Rodan & Fields foam for several years with good results but this year I also tried out these tan towels. I found them so easy to use and even used on my face. At this time I haven’t tried using them on my legs but they have been great for my face, neck, chest and arms. My friend Lisa also grabbed this mist during the Ulta Beauty sale and had good things to say about it. I’d love for you to share your fave self tan products!

What are some essentials you are looking to add this spring?
