Thursday already? I was excited to run a cross a new link up this week and since Thursday is always one of those random thought days for me in this little space I thought I would participate. I’ve been following some of these ladies on Instagram for awhile and had no clue they had blogs too! Crazy little social world we live in.
So what three things am I thinking about this week? Well it’s been the perfect weather for soup but I am also participating in a “fat furnace” challenge and watching my carbs so that has me doing a lot of thinking about my favorite soups I have to refrain from but also the one soup I can still grab. I thought I would share my favorites with you!
{Sausage Tortellini Soup}
Y’all, this is probably my very favorite soup of all time! I found this recipe from everyone’s favorite, Shay @
Mix and Match Mama. The first time I made it I knew it would be a permanent favorite at our house. It is hearty and delicious and will fill your belly. It is the perfect comfort meal! On top of that it is super simple to make. You can find the recipe
here. Only substitute I made was using Rotel mild tomatoes instead of the regular.
{Chicken Noodle Soup}
Who doesn’t love chicken noodle soup? I mean I honestly could just eat a big bowl of egg noodles and broth I love them so much! This is a very thrown together recipe but honestly you can hardly screw it up. I sauté celery, onion & garlic in a skillet and then toss in a stock pot. There is a reason I am not a blogger focused on cooking because I rarely, if ever, measure or follow a recipe exactly so sorry about that. I remove the skin from a rotisserie chicken and use mostly white meat and spread into pieces. I toss that in the pot with the veggie and also add a few diced carrots. I add chicken broth and bring to a boil before lowering the heat to let the flavor soak in. I have made this with chicken breast in the crock pot and let it cook all day as well.
When we are ready to eat I bring the pot to a boil once more and toss in the egg noodles. So easy and so delicious. I’m dying for some of this right now!
{Southwest Chicken Chili}
Sorry no picture to make your mouth water, by trust me, the Southwest Chicken Chili at Jason’s Deli is so yummy! It is not free from carbs completely but it packs a punch of protein as well. I was stoked when I found out Carly’s school was having a profit share at Jason’s this week and I scarfed down a bowl sans the cheese. This
recipe is the best copycat recipe I’ve been able to find. Skip adding the kidney beans and cut a few carbs. I think I may have to make a pot for lunches next week. This
Pinterest board has lots of Jason’s Deli copycat recipes if you are a big fan.
Are you a soup lover this time of year? If so I’d love to hear about your favorites!
I’m also linking up today with the bloggers below and as always you can hop over to my

when it comes to new year resolutions i’m pretty much garbage at it. except for one year when i vowed to have better posture…and it actually worked. i now have pretty fantastic posture. it was all because i saw on oprah that it could make you look 10 pounds lighter…i digress…
i’m pretty bad at resolutions because i feel like i’m making resolutions all day, errrrrrr day. like…
i resolve to keep a cleaner home.
i resolve to not watch so much tv this.
i resolve to work out.
i resolve to only eat healthy.
i resolve to not eat popcorn.
(seriously…i eat popcorn every day.)
what i’m saying is this – i imagine there are quite a few of you in my shoes. it’s like…so many goals all the time! it can get a little overwhelming.
so for january’s group giveaway i thought it would be great to encourage entrants to think about what they would use the mula for to help reach their resolution(s).
obviously, i would spend my money on a complete new workout get up + new running shoes!
or i would buy an updated fitbit!
ooooo…what i’ve really been wanting is the fitbit scale! i know it’s probably not super accurate, but it’s definitely pretty.
or maybe i would use the money to buy a ticket to see my sister. (and we would work out together…gotta stay true to the resolution!)
or maybe the money could go towards stocking my kitchen with wonderfully healthy foods! hello grocery bill. eating right is sooooo not cheap.
another option – how about some new kitchen gadgets? like one of those things that makes zucchini into noodles! or a mandolin!
or…what about throwing some dough into your blog – like a new design or sponsoring your favorite blogger…cough – sept. farm – cough cough.
options, people. with $250 bones…you have options.
you know the drill.

Tortellini soup, is a favorite of mine, without the sausage though. I could eat it by the bowlfuls. What a great line up of bloggers hosting the giveaway. A lot of familiar faces. Enjoy your Thursday. BTW, your Connect With post has had many, many pageviews. You are quite the popular one (I'd say that if I was back in high school, hee hee).
I could eat soup every single day! On Monday I made some homemade chicken soup and it was so yummy!!! Have a great day my friend

Sadly it has heated up here in CS and is pretty muggy.
For real! I seriously hoard the soup when I make it and hide little containers from my family so I can be sure to have it for work for several days!
We Love soup this time of year and your selections look so delicious! Our current favorite is Chicken Zoodle Soup. I perused the Sausage Tortellini Soup recipe and am considering how I can make it Paleo friendly – it sounds absolutely yummy!
