Show and Tell Tuesday – A Day in the Life

Good morning and happy Tuesday!  Yesterday The Blended Blog hosted a linkup for a fall day in the life and, well, things have been a little crazy around here and I never got around to capturing a “regular” day if there is such a thing for me!  Instead I sent you guys to follow along with my day on Instastories.  Today I’m linking up with Andrea at Momfessionals to share my day for those of you who did not follow along!

Monday was not a typical day for us as my kids were out of school on a holiday and I took the day off work.  I’m still working on putting my house back together from all the painting so being productive with a day of vacation seemed reasonable!

I was proud of myself for getting up on my day off to head in for a workout!  I’ve been truly slacking lately.

I headed back home by 6:30!

Are you loving the new polls in instastories?  I think they are pretty fun and it looks like most of my “insta-friends” are also coffee lovers!

I settled in for a little quiet time while the house was still peaceful.  I’ve been following along with the First 5 app and trying to catch up and complete the suffering series.  It has been very eye opening and somewhat timely with all that has happened in our country the past few months.

I decided it was time to clean out our kitchen cabinets!  I have not taken everything out since we moved in.  That’s right, we remodeled the kitchen and had new granite put in AND had the cabinets painted on the outside and I was too lazy to move everything out.  Do as I say and not as I do….if you are going to renovate your kitchen empty that sucker!  That being said, it’s been since 2008 so it was time to check out what I’ve been stashing.  I even found a pocket knife I’m sure I hid from Riley at some point!

Oh what a difference some fresh shelf paper makes!

We are going through a transition to a new HR/Payroll system at work and having daily conference calls during a testing phase so I took a little break to listen in.

Dropped off Dillon to study and grabbed Chick-Fil-A for Carly Jo and I.

Headed to Target to grab more shelf paper and cotton balls only……actually also remembered we needed toothpaste and managed to only buy those 3 items!

Carly’s friend Holden came over because “I’m bored mom” and I’m pretty sure they made slime without permission based on the evidence I found stashed in the bathroom cabinet.

Dillon drove himself to pitching lessons!  I can dream about how much relief it will bring to my schedule in a few months when he really can drive himself.  I feel like I’m in the car way too much these days!

Y’all, I have so much china from my first wedding!!  Here’s a funny, if you ever see china on a table setting in a movie THIS is the china.  It cracks me up every single time!  Anyway, I never, ever use anything aside from these champagne glasses but don’t know how to get rid of it simply because I have zero clue about packing it!

Dutch rode with me to round up both kids at 7pm.  Nothing makes a mom crazier than needing to pick both kids up, miles apart at the exact same time!

Keith made this for dinner while I headed for a quick meeting and I was so grateful to have it when I returned!  It use to be something we made a lot but it’s loaded with sodium so I try really hard to limit now.  Gosh darn it’s delicious though!

I finally cleaned up and headed to bed around midnight.  Totally a full day but so productive and I love days like that!

Today my living room and breakfast area are going to see some fun changes and I can’t wait to show you!  I’m so glad we moved forward with having everything painted two weeks ago and can’t wait to have  few spaces completed.

  1. Polls on IG stories?! Oh man, I have seriously been off my IG story game lately friend. I really need to work on that since it is a fun way to document things. Looks like y’all had a great, busy day!

  2. OMGosh…I know just how you feel about your china! I never use, want it gone but don’t know how to pack it safely without spending a ton!

  3. Ok, first of all I am impressed you stayed up till midnight! Since I get up at 4:15 everyday it’s hard for me to make it past 9:30, lol! The weekends are a little better but not by much, my body clock is set I guess.
Second- we are remodeling our kitchen and all of our stuff has been taken out of the cabinets. It is now set up on tables all over the house and it is driving me CRAZY. We haven’t removed everything since 1996 when we moved in – ha! What an ordeal it has been.
Looks like you had a great day off. We have a 3 day weekend this weekend and I am super excited. No big plans but it’s nice to have that extra day. I swear 3 day weekends need to be the LAW!

    1. Girl….hope you are surviving the house remodel! I still have all my china stacked up in my bedroom and it’s about to hit the limit for me. Hopefully the new piece we had built will be painted this week and I’ll be able to move stuff back in next week. I really believe if I could just take one month off I could get everything the way I want it and then be able to just relax when I’m home!
