Show and Tell – Top 5 Pictures
When Andrea challenged us to a Show and Tell Tuesday with our top 5 pictures, I really had a hard time believing I could actually choose only 5! Well…I couldn’t but you know, if you label one as a bonus that doesn’t count as cheating right? I’m also still working on converting pictures from my old Mac to my new Mac and was too lazy to fire up both! I adore these people and it was certainly hard to choose as I have so many favorite pictures but here is what I came up with due to the story I see when I look at each one.
I adore this picture! Finishing college while raising this girl wasn’t easy. Add to it a second baby two months before graduation and things were just a tad crazy. Being a strong woman and teaching this girl to also be a strong woman was so incredibly important to me. I look at this picture and remember those last two years of college and how there were days it was so tough but never once did I believe graduating was an option.
You guys have all seen parts of Riley’s story but this picture right here was probably my favorite ever. He had just pitched the last out in the Super Regional series against Pepperdine to send TCU to the College World Series. Riley rarely showed emotion on the field so to see him explode was huge.
Right now this picture is huge to me! This little boy is all but gone but knowing the love we have between each other will survive even if it is not quite as outwardly obvious is such a blessing to a momma’s heart.
Oh little missy. She completed our family perfectly and even though she was the center of attention she has never been spoiled about it. She may be in the foreground but this girl puts the rest of us on a pedestal and looks up to each of us in a special way.
My man crush every day! He is never hotter (sorry kids) than when he is out doing what he loves! The joy that overcomes him out on a boat in the bay or sitting in a deer stand reminds me of the guy I fell in love with.
Bonus! Dutch Buddy came into our lives 2 1/2 years ago and I had zero clue before how much I needed him. As the kids have gotten older and I have become less and less “cool”, I’ve got this amazing little dude who is my shadow at home. He quickly became part of our family and everyone loves him. As Carly once said “mom, our family just seems so much more normal now that we have a dog”. Exactly!
Whew! Y’all, there have been years I’m positive I’ve taken 40K plus pictures so this is not an easy little post. The one thing I can say, those candid, unposed, every day shots are often my very faves!
Can you narrow down your Top 5?
Precious beyond words. It was impossible to pick, I ended up with 15 because i just couldn’t do it!! You did perfect with one dedicated to each member of your sweet fam!! LOVE the love and devotion you have for them!
Girl…..this is one of those topics that I could have gotten sucked into for weeks trying to find just the right mix. Thankfully I procrastinated and was also exhausted and had to make some cuts. haha
Great pictures Shelly, such a precious family!
Thanks Kellyann….they make my heart beat!
I smiled through all of these. I can totally see why they are some of your favorites!
Thank you Beth.
I think you did great with your selection!
Thanks Momma

MeetTheShaneyfelts
Thanks Sarah!
Your top 5 are perfect. You did a great job narrowing it down. I picked ten plus a few more. (I am not a rule follower – hahaha.) Happy Tuesday.
I like to believe I’m a rule follower Jessica..haha..but I’m pretty sure people roll their eyes when I say that just as they do when I claim to be an introvert.
Wasn’t this a fun topic? I’m so impressed that you managed to get your post down to just five pictures! Each one is so precious and really shows a unique part of your life. Your family is beautiful!
It was NOT easy for sure….but I was also exhausted from spending a day with my momma. 🙂 So it had to happen.
Is it silly that I teared up looking at these pics?! Oh my goodness – time truly is passing us by in the blink of an eye!
Totally a BLINK! I saw the pictures last night of us with Hope feeding ducks..oh my goodness!
Your family is so adorable and I LOVE the shot of you and Dillon. I am not a boy mom but I can clearly see why you are so in love wit your two sons and I am a girl mom and well, our girls are our mini me’s! Dutch is so adorable!!
Girls are the best because they are yours forever….I pray every day my sons will find a girl to love who will accept our mother/son relationship without being intimidated. It’s a slippery slope sometimes!
Wow. I don’t know you or your family in real life but these pictures made me feel closer to all of you. Like a peek inside your heart. Heading over now to your About page so I can get everyone’s name down!!
They definitely fill up a really big part of my heart!
Such great pictures Shelly!! It was hard not to get sucked into a black hole of memories on this one. There’s nothing like the love of your family!❤️
So true Lisa! I recently sent off VHS tapes for conversion to DVD….we have been having so much fun watching my bigs when they were babies. And seeing all those special people who are gone now has been heartwarming.
Love these pictures Shelly! All of these are irreplaceable…but that graduation one…
I know Katie…I just ran across it about a year and 1/2 ago and it just struck me! I’m not sure at the time it meant the same as it does now. Funny how a picture from the past can evoke such emotion.
That first picture- all the feels! What a great reminder of your strength and perseverance!
It’s a favorite for me and my daughter Allie!
What great pictures! I had to laugh about the picture of your man, isn’t it so true? My husband looks so hot when he is doing what he loves (fishing, hunting, farming, working on trucks)! Have a great day!
I’m glad you get it Jenna!! I definitely love seeing Keith in his element.
Not sure I could pick just five! You have some wonderful pictures here!
