September Goals – Blogtember Challenge #2
1. Create a weekly meal plan and grocery list and make only one trip to the grocery store each week. Eat at home at least five nights and stick to the dining out budget. Sitting down at the table each night is really something I’ve let slide for too long and often dinner around the table is the only time we all have a chance to catch up. Dinner, regardless of what my picky eater is having, will occur at the table!
2. Plan work outfits for the week on Sunday night and hang together with all accessories. One of my biggest time wasters is trying to pull together an outfit each day so taking a little time to plan ahead will definitely make smoother mornings. It will also, hopefully, help me to do a better job shopping my closet as well as purging items no longer bringing me joy.
3. Log some sort of fitness at least four days each week. With the kids activities back in full swing, the first thing I drop is my own personal fitness goals and I need the endorphins. My goal is to stop making excuses and be accountable.
4. Complete two books; one fiction and one non-fiction.
5. Paint Carly’s room (yes this has been on my list since April) and complete the conversion to her “tween” room in time to celebrate her birthday!
6. Manage schedules and create a reasonable chart to budget and manage time responsibly. So many things going through my mind all the time; prayer request, to do list, books I want to read, blog posts I need to write, things I need to purchase. I need to create a way to budget all I need to do with all I want to do without feeling like nothing is being accomplished. I have been researching Bullet Journaling for several months and hope to begin that method in September.
7. Decorate the house for fall!
8. Complete the blog-tember challenge!
I know, eight seems like a weird place to stop but I definitely want to be realistic! My biggest issue is always thinking I have more time than I actually do.
Cheers to September!
I'm excited to read all these Blog-tember challenges!
We painted Kendall's room last February, and if I had to do it over again, here's what I would do…HIRE SOMEONE! Omg…it was horrible. We also had to paint the ceiling, so that stunk, too. Plus, it was freezing outside, so I think that effected how the paint went on. I hope your experience is better!
I have been looking into bullet journals since your daughter's post. They seem so fun!
I hope you have a great LONG weekend! 🙂
I love your first goal. I typically make a meal play for 2-3 nights in a row so I am taking 2-3 grocery runs per week and would like to decrease that if I am planning for a full week. And our big goal this month is to decrease restaurant spending. We have been pretty bad lately!
I can't believe you don't get Labor Day off…boo! Love that you're doing Blog-tember and I can relate to all of your goals! I feel like I have been doing better with meal planning since school started, and It has made our evenings really nice. Have a great weekend!
Meal planning is definitely something I do weekly. We don't have dinner at the table but that's a good goal. ONE DAY! #6 really spoke to me…that's definitely something I should have mentioned on my own list. Found you via the Blog-tember linkup! Can't wait to check out more content! ~Shan
With older kids it really gets tricky to find that time to connect….and I've been way too lazy letting this opportunity to connect pass me by! This linkup is so much fun!
Me too Tanya! I don't know why but I always do so much better at the beginning of the school year making a meal plan and actually sticking to it! Hope you have a super weekend!
Going to the grocery store really haunts me….I'm terrible about making a list but then leaving it at home leading to multiple trips per week. I know if I can only make it once it will also save me money! When we get busy our dining out spending gets totally out of control and I'm really wanting to work on that this fall.
GIRL….would you believe I have tried to hire someone and this town is so crazy!! You can get someone to come out for a bid and then you might get an estimate and then you NEVER can get on their schedule! I got a bid in May and the guy still doesn't have time for me. blah
I have always wanted to do a blog challenge like this but always discover them a day or two too late. Dang it!! Maybe I'll play along in some way. Maybe on my blog's Facebook page 🙂
Me too Stephanie! Day 5 and I've already missed a day. Blogging every day is not easy at all. I do love a great prompt though!
I am bad at time management too Shell. I hope you accomplish these two and if you find a good bullet journal let me know. I cannot wait to read more of your blogtember challenge.
Me & time management…..it is not a good combo! I've done better this month simply by getting my hiney out of bed early. I still just cannot master the bullet journal. I think I'm trying to be too fancy!
