Second Time Around + Ageless Style Link Up
Welcome to the Ageless Style Link Up where each month one of the lovely ladies in our group chooses a theme and we all pull together our best look. This month Ana from Mrs. American Made chose the theme Second Time Around sharing a vintage or second hand piece.
I may be the first one kicked out of our group as this theme is not one I readily have available. While I am often amazed at the second hand finds others come across, I can honestly tell you I do not shop second hand. It’s not that I haven’t tried but thus far I have never been successful and honestly the time it takes to shop for a great find is just not something I’m willing to do at this stage in my life.
What I am fairly good at, however, is keeping items for an extended time in my own closet. Sometimes they remain so long the style comes around a second time. Today I’m sharing one of those looks I loved in the late 90’s which appears to be making a comeback.
I’m thinking I love this more casual look so much better! This top is at least three years old as well but thankfully these sleeves are still making it into the fashion scene.
I also love this striped city clutch I picked up last spring which is still in stock. I would love to help you earn one of your own by hosting a Stella & Dot virtual party. Special bonuses in March make it a great month to host. Contact me if you are interested!
So what about you? Are you a thrifty shopper hitting up the 2nd hand shops in your area? Or have you tried some of the 2nd hand shops online such as Poshmark? I’d love to know your strategy and how you make this work for you.
Love that blouse!!!!!
Jaymie
Shopping second hand can be time consuming and very hit or miss. I love the scarf with this outfit. You look great!
I adore this look and its vintage flare. You pull it off so well!
Thanks sweet friend! After I put this together I was kind of crazy about it.
Thanks Fonda! Living in a college ton the resale scene is just a tad different too.
Thanks Jaymie!
I love the outfit! I'm the same as you I can never find anything at vintage shops but I will have things in my own closet for years lol My sister was actually teasing me this weekend saying the shirt I was wearing must be 15 years old haha
I love thrift store shopping but we don't have the best shops here in the Algarve where I live. Occasionally I'll pop in and find a cute piece but it doesn't happen very often. Sometimes I make do with eBay (I've had loads of second hand goodies from there)!
You look lovely in this outfit, I do love a bell sleeve!

Shell Bell, is there anything you look bad in?? I doubt it. Looking lovely as always.
I do the same exact thing… I hold on to some pieces for YEARS! I totally still wear a couple of skirts that I got back in 1998 when I got my first job. And bell sleeves – all the yes! I was sad when those went out of style so I'm totally on board with them coming back around. You look fantastic as always, girl! You can wear anything!
Haha – like we would kick you out! Goodness, I had forgotten all about Casual Corner. I love the necktie trend is coming back and I enjoyed seeing your casual styling of it.
Yes, I agree why would we ever kick you out – you have such adorable style – love todays look. Brilliant top! Unfortunately I know where you're coming from when it comes to booties – it's happening to me too – eek!
xoxo Yvonne
Try OxiClean on your jeans, it works for me!
You look great!
Such a great look! I love neck scarves. How lucky are you that you have a collection of neck scarves from way back when…. And the top is a fabulous color and looks fantastic with white!

I can't love this enough!
I forgot all about Casual Corner! Wow I loved that store. You know, we'd shop at Casual Corner then pop over to The Limited…those were the days. 🙂
Love your neck scarf with the bell sleeve top. They both look great with white skinnies and the booties.
Like you, I don't shop thrift stores. Too time consuming and hit or miss for me. I am jealous when I see what others find though.

You look so lovely in this outfit. I love that top and the colors!
I DO remember Casual Corner 🙂 I actually still have a few of those neck scarfs from Express that I just could not bear to part with, so it looks like I will be wearing them again. I love the white jeans with the bright top!
I am a big fan of orange and your top got my attention immediately! What a fun look. I just found your blog and love it. Coming from Turning Heads Tuesday. Peace! Cheryl Tucker
I was serious about some Casual Corner Mary! I'm really looking forward to pulling out all of mine this spring.
Thank you so much Amy! It took me awhile to find just the right thing to pair it with but I loved how this turned out.
Thank you! I'm feeling really excited that I saved these scarves!
Haha, I know! I'm kicking myself right now for getting rid of a one shoulder top now that they are back in style.
Totally agree Sarah….loving these loft curvy jeans!
Thank you so much Edwige! Happy Spring!
Jess I was so crazy about some Casual Corner! The ladies would even call me the day before a big sale so that I could come shop early!!
Yes!! Loved both stores!
Thanks sweet friend!
I really wish I did Ruth. I am a sucky digger too…like even TJ Maxx is hard for me. I really wish I was better at it.
Thank you Kellyann! Remember back in the day when they would do the whole color wheel thing and tell you what color you are? Well…this was one of my best colors!
Thanks so much Elise!
Thank you Andrea! I'm super excited to pull them out and find ways to incorporate them this spring.
Thanks Angela!
Haha….thanks Yvonne!
Loved me some Casual Corner Jennie!
Well be glad you can still fit your things from 1998….I finally had to get rid of a few things I could no longer fit my booty into!
I promise girl…if you saw me trying to rock a peplum top you would see really fast that I cannot wear everything! Haha Thank you though sweet lady!
Thank you Suzy! I wish I had more of a love for thrifting. I really have tried a few times but without much luck.
I finally got rid of a jacket this past fall that was 12 years old!! i think I got my money's worth. Have a great weekend Brittany!
I have a serious ankle boot addiction problem too…lol! I still have several neck scarves from Express in the 90's which I have pulled out again. Sometimes being a pack rat pays off!

I am loving your outfit! You could wear that now and in the summer, it's so versatile! I need a those booties too! I've been seeing booties like those everywhere and wanting a pair!
Thanks Sara! I'm definitely think this could work most of the year in Texas. Hope you are having a great weekend!
Sometimes it does…I'm spending my spring break doing a little purging around my house….but hopefully I won't have any regrets. Ha! Hope you had a super weekend.
Loving this whole outfit! The neck tie adds such a cute detail and I love that red top! Thank you so much for sharing with us at On Mondays We Link-Up :).

Trendy & Tidy
Thanks so much for hosting Sarah!
Former Casual Corner gal here. Love how you were wearing these bell sleeves three years ago, slightly ahead of the return of the trend. You style-setter you.
Ha! It definitely was a once in awhile thing if I was ahead of the times!
