Royally Waiting (Linkup #6) – What’s Up Wednesday
The last Wednesday of the month? Say it isn’t so! It has definitely been a windy March and we have had a few storms which have created a beautiful canvas for spring. Everything is green and growing and we are as busy as ever but trying to soak it up. While the outside is blooming we are hoping you will link up each week with Holly, Katy and me as we host Royally Waiting and share what’s been going on in your world! Help us grow won’t you?
Eating
For two weeks we have tried out Hello Fresh and I have to say it has been a yummy experience. We only had one dish that was kind of iffy and one that took a bit longer than we would have liked to prep and cook. Other than that it has been great! The chicken in the first picture topped with a mix of grated zucchini and parmesan cheese was such a winner, in fact, that Keith has already recreated once! You can sign up here to try out Hello Fresh for yourself and we both win. (I receive $20 and you receive $40 off your first box + receive your own code to pass along to friends).
Definitely trying to get back on the healthy eating bus and for me that means turning back to the tried and true mantra “a failure to plan is a plan to fail”! Meal prep is huge for me if I want to stay focused. Here are 3 meals I’ve used this past week for either breakfast or lunch. Seeing so many pretty colors makes me know I’m doing something right!
Avocado+Tomato+Turkey Bacon+Lean Turkey = Bib Lettuce Wrap
Butternut Squash+Onion+Chopped Kale+Turkey Bacon+Cilantro & Lime + 2 Eggs/1 Egg White = Breakfast of Champions
Salmon Fillet+Salad Mix+Tessemae Creamy Ranch (you need to try this) = Perfect Salad
Reminiscing
Yesterday I shared my Top 5 Pictures and expanded a bit on what they really mean to me. Okay, they are 5 of my favorites but the list is endless. We have also been loving watching all the videos I’ve received back from Legacy Box! I have been so excited to know I have videos of my Meme, one of my grandfathers and was so happy to see and hear my daddy’s voice again!
And speaking of my dad, I wrote a personal piece about purging my heart a bit over spring break.
Loving
I know you guys are tired of hearing about it, but, I’m loving my new blog design! If you were previously following by email, please note I’ve changed mail services and you will need to sign up again at the bottom of this page. Wordpress has taken some time to become accustomed to but I can already tell you the pluses have far outweighed the negative.
Dreading
Thankfully we are no longer dreading this procedure! My mom is seriously one of the strongest women I know; right up until something medical is involved! I’m positive after finally talking her into going through with it the night before and coaching her through the prep, I could definitely be someone’s life coach! Thankfully all is well.
Working on
A blog schedule! I will be heading into my busiest time of year about the same time summer arrives and if I want to be present here and still present at work and with my family I will have to do a little pre-planning and scheduling. It is just so hard to get ahead in this space sometimes but I know if I dedicate a little extra time it will be worth it.
Excited About
The new bundle released yesterday from Rodan + Fields! This would make a great Mother’s Day gift for someone special in your life. I think we all can probably agree we love laughing but those little lines it leaves behind around our eyes not so much. The eye cream is one of my favorites. When I first was introduced to R+F and saw the lip serum I was like what? Who needs a serum for their lips. Well, I finally began using this little boost and have been amazed at how moisturized my lips now feel. No more peeling and no more need for all the chapstick. Plus when you order this bundle it comes with a cute little bag and a box ready to be gifted. Contact me for more information if you are interested! You can also now shop my Rodan + Fields in the navigation bar.
Watching
We headed to see Beauty and the Beast and if you haven’t it’s a must! I always loved the Disney movie but this was just beautiful. Emma Watson did an amazing job and it is just such a beautiful story. I had to fight tears, mainly happy ones, the entire time. I’m always amazed by the power of music.
Reading
After finishing Breaking Up With Perfect earlier this month I was searching for a new book and realized I had What Happens When Women Walk in Faith: Trusting God Takes You to Amazing Places in my ibooks from long ago and I can tell it is going to be another great read.
You can read my February book review here.
Listening to
This should be no surprise, the Beauty and the Beast soundtrack is the first full cover I’ve purchased in years! I ran straight to Target after the movie but it was all sold out so once I made it home I downloaded immediately! Beauty and the Beast was the first movie Jordan fell in love with and I still remember all the words!
Wearing
My favorite spring editions and stretching out some of my favorites I’m not quite ready to ditch just yet!
Wearing my fave Toms booties from the fall with a new spring scarf and new Kendra earrings in a fun color. I love how this outfit came together and is perfect for a casual day at the office.
New white skinnies updated with the frayed hem have been on repeat. They are a great fit and thick enough. Another great pair of booties to take you through spring and they are super comfortable. Topping it off with the softest denim shirt. Black and white always works doesn’t it? I have added multiple tops perfect for the office which all crossover between seasons. I really loved the pleats on this one. Of course my black and white bag does it’s job every day too! I’m now gah gah over the summer version Avalon Tote. Want to get a bag for yourself free? Contact me to schedule your Stella and Dot party and start earning!
Doing This Weekend
Back to weekends where our family is either on the road or splitting up for the weekend! Dillon begins 7 on 7 football this weekend and will be playing out of town on Saturday but I will be staying back so Carly Jo can enjoy a birthday party.
Looking Forward to Next Month
April will be full of baseball. Riley will be heading to his new assignment as early as this weekend and Dillon will wrap up high school baseball by the end of the month. It’s definitely my favorite season to watch my boys.
Be sure and grab our graphic and link back to us. Oh, and since this is a new link-up, please share away!
Also joining Shay, Mel & Sheaffer for What’s Up Wednesday and Jessi and Jenn for What’s Hap-“Pinning” Wednesday.
Love your chambray and white!
Thanks Carrie! It’s such an easy combo so I don’t know why I don’t combine more frequently.
So glad all went well for your mama!! You rock booties like a boss! Seriously cute stuff friend!!
She is a mess girl…but once we got past that all was great!
Those booties are fabulous and those hello fresh meals look delicious, it’s on my April to do list to finally sign up for it.
Amanda @ Cupcake N Dreams
We have been having fun making the meals together Amanda and so far we have loved everything.
My husband wants to try Hello Fresh so much! After seeing those meals I think we need to go for it!
Laura my husband has been totally into trying them! If you guys are foodies at all and love cooking meals you will enjoy.
Let’s Get Fresh Today! I am intrigued to try this out:)
Sending you and email soon Kathy!
I’m so glad all went well with your mom!
Thanks friend!!
Your outfits are always some of my favorites! I totally just noticed the blog design too and now I am wondering how long it has been like this. Just blame the fever that I had last week, lol. Everything looks great around here!
Lol…it’s only been live for two weeks so it’s easy to miss!
Where do I start? I always get so ADD with your posts bc I’ll love something and just keep on going and love something more! (haha did that make sense?) Your outfits and food lately = a big fat yes! LOVE hoe happy your Mama looks and I’ll definitely be sending out some extra prayers! My friend swears by R&F so I need to look into that eye serum/cream. I have the self-tanner and eyelash boost serum and need to use it!
Thank you Jessi! Get busy with those R+F products..I promise you will love!
Love the white jeans and chambray outfit- that’s my style language! We are huge Beauty and the Beast fans, and we’ve been so busy, but we are headed to see it this Sunday- can’t wait!
You are going to love it Allie! I mean we all know the story but they really did an amazing job with it!
We’re hoping to see Beauty and The Beast this weekend too. Busy, busy, busy best describes you Shelly. Who are the white skinnies made by? I just ordered a bunch from Nordstrom to try. I so badly want a pair but I am unfortunately blessed (cursed) with cellulite beyond my age and size. Light colored jeans are SO UNFORGIVING. If none of these work, I guess I’m going to have to throw in the towel😩
Lisa I feel ya….and these jeans have been great! They are from loft and I’ve been super happy with them. I also have a pair of the Vince Camuto Two from Nordstrom that I love.
Thanks Shelly!
I just switched to WordPress too and it’s a lot of work but the pluses definitely outweigh the negatives. The B&TB soundtrack is amazing!!! Love that black/white top, I have it too and always love wearing it.

Isn’t the top so great! I really do love mine and always feel great wearing it.
I love your new blog design! I’d love to hear more about why you switched over to WordPress. I’ve always wondered, but wasn’t sure if it was really worth it.
Me too☺️
Jenny I am really going to try and do a post soon!
Gahhh you are so cute. I’m glad your mama is doing well. Scheduling, sheesh girl. I’m just closing down shop for two weeks hahaha. I hope I come back but I’m not sure I can make that promise. Eeeeek!
I am the last person on the face of the Earth to see BATB and I’m not one bit happy about it.
Hahaha….go girl! It’s worth the time. I seriously am considering going again.
My sis and I just saw Beauty and the Beast tonight – SO GOOD! Glad everything went well with your sweet mama!
