Royally Waiting (Link-up #2)

· ·
Welcome to Royally Waiting!  We are super excited you are here and hope you will come back to join us each week.  We have a few prompts to help you get started so feel free to use them all or make up your own.  Holly, Katy and I are just excited you are here and can’t wait to read what you have to share.

Waiting on my hair appointment!  It seems like my hair will be just fine and then bam, roots for days. Tomorrow is my 6 week appointment and it could not have come too soon.   Thinking I’ll continue to just nip the ends but dabbling with going a little lighter or a little bit darker.  I’ve been testing out the Kristen Ess thickening spray from Target and it smells so good and it does seem to be adding some texture to my super fine hair.

Working on a consistent workout schedule.  The past few weeks I took my own workout tips and added my workouts onto my calendar.  Instead of just plugging in all the possible workouts I’ve been looking more strategically at my calendar for the week on Monday and plugging in the workouts that will fit.  This one was a doozy but I felt quite accomplished at the end!

Reading is something I’m making more time for and I finished two more books in February and loved them both.  Read between the lines for my February book review.

Thinking it’s time for some color on my pasty legs!  Yikes, I’ve been wearing a few dresses since the temps have been in the 80’s and it’s no wonder everyone is wearing shades.  No fear, my fave sunless tanner should be arriving next week.  What is your favorite?

Considering starting a book club for women at work.  I have tons of Christian based books to choose from but would also like some inspirational women’s leadership books on the list.  For the first book my goal is to find 10 individuals around campus who would like to meet bi-weekly to discuss the topics in the book and leave feeling a little more empowered!  If you have any book suggestions I’d love to hear.

Eating tacos!  Last Friday I shared the chicken carnitas recipe we loved last week and we had a little taco Tuesday (even though Carly kept reminding me it was Fat Tuesday) celebration with the leftover chicken, some steak from the weekend and a new batch of regular taco meat.  It was the perfect dinner for a Tuesday night!  AND….I used my instant pot again this time to make charro beans.  Y’all, this pot is a GAMEchanger.  I love making a fresh pot of beans but really hate the soaking and the hours worth of cooking.  I literally tossed in pinto beans with 4 cups water, rotel tomatoes, chopped cilantro, chopped onion, minced garlic and a 1/2 teaspoon of chili powder, cumin, paprika, pepper and salt and in 45, yes 45, minutes I had a delicious pot of beans!

Wearing all the new booties I shamefully purchased on sale.  I’m not going to lie, these shoes are still pricey on sale but, as I mentioned in January, I am willing to splurge on quality shoes.  I seriously walked over 6000 steps in the Vince Camuto booties I showed you in my Friday Favorites on the second wear with no problems.  The Sam Edelman booties will definitely take me well into spring and I walked about 4000 steps in them on Tuesday and they felt great.  The best thing about Nordstrom, if you hate them and they hurt your feet they will take them back.

  1. I have been using the R+F self tanner since February haha! And I just ordered another bottle-it's my favorite! Love those booties on you, too! I spend money on quality shoes, too, because I view it as an investment! And I will not wear shoes that hurt my feet.

  2. Beautiful booties on the most beautiful gal and gimme those tacos….they look scrumptious!!! Happy Wednesday, such a great new series!!

  3. I love those booties, too! I tried out the Vince Camuto, but had to send them back. As pretty as they were, they were just a little too tall for me..
That instapot sounds very interesting. I grew up eating beans like that.

  4. Your thinking is my thinking too. I am SO stinking tired of being pale and sad but I don't want to hop on a tanning bed either. UGH! Maybe I should try some sunless tanner out.

  5. I love those booties! I got myself a pair not that long ago too and I'm just itching to wear them but it is still a tad too cold, snow is basically gone but it is chilly! haha I will have to remember to link up next week 🙂

  6. Those booties are so cute! I've been wanting a pair of booties similar to that to kind of bridge between riding boots and sandals and those are perfect!

  7. Yesterday I checked on the Vince Camuto's again and the had my size!!!😀 YIPPEE, I put them in my cart pressed "checkout" and they were already out of stock. BOOOO😩. I'll keep watching. Love the Sam Edelman's too. I looked at those. I choked and ordered the Vince C's everyone's getting, but we'll see if I love them enough to keep them when they arrive.😬. I'm marking my calendar NOW for next weeks link up since I totally busted it and forgot today. Happy Wednesday!

  8. I am so tempted to get an instant pot, but I have sworn off buying any more kitchen appliances. I have so many that are just gathering dust! Love those booties. I'm impressed that you log so many steps in shoes with heels!

  9. I need an instant pot – maybe a summer purchase? Loving those booties – can you believe I walked away from the store with no shoes yesterday!?!? WHO AM I?

  10. OMG, my hair was SO bad before I finally got it done yesterday. I usually try to go every 8 weeks, but this time it had been over 12. EEEEKS. My hair grows really fast so I should really do mine every 6 weeks like you do!

  11. My hair grows so slow….or so I think until I get close to 6 weeks! My "real" hair has gotten darker and darker over the years and I honestly would just let it be dark except it has no texture without the blonde. Ugh! Girl problems.

  12. This sucker has seriously changed dinner for me Tanya so now that I finally was brave enough to get it out of the box I'm loving it. I seriously am just more comfortable in heels oddly enough….I rarely wear flats but that just means it's really important for my heels to be comfy!

  13. Me too girl I tanned on beds in my later teens off and on then swore it off. I live outside all summer but usually always wear a very low spf on my face and shoulders and a higher one as the summer goes along. I feel so much better about my body when it is tan.

  14. We're on the same page with tacos – all day every day recently ha! Can't get enough! You should definitely start the book club – how fun! LOVE those booties and thanks for linking that thickening spray!

  15. Fun link up. I'm trying to read more. I just downloaded The Woman in Cabin 10 that you suggested! Thanks for hosting. You will love The Year of Yes. Another good one that I haven't reviewed yet on the blog is Essentialism. Check that one out for your group.

  16. I have seen Charro Beans on different IG acts I follow and wondered what they were! Ok now I know. LOL

  17. Oh your new shoes are lovely! I think shoes are worth splurging on sometimes! 🙂 Nothing worse than uncomfortable shoes.

The book club is a wonderful idea! While I don't have any suggestions for you I hope you share some of the books you read 🙂

Hope you are having a really good week 🙂
