Royally Waiting (Link-up #5)

· ·

Another week with another chance for you to linkup with Holly, Katy and me to share what you are waiting on!  Last week I was on a bit of a “staycation” with a little fun at the end of the week and let me tell you it was so nice.  The last thing I was waiting on was for Monday to roll back around!  But, alas, it did roll back around and it has been full speed ahead.  Here is a little of what’s going on.

Royally Waiting

I have been anxiously waiting since I purchased the package Cyber Monday for my new blog design to become a reality.  In case you haven’t noticed, things got real last Wednesday right in the middle of my vacation.  I’ll hopefully pull together a little post at some point as to why the redesign, why the platform switch and a little update on what I’m loving (or not) about it.  Until then, things you need to know now.

  • If you previously followed the blog by email (and why wouldn’t you, ha!) you are no longer receiving love from me as I switched to a new mail service.  There is a handy dandy signup at the bottom of the post just in case I haven’t bored you to death yet and you still want to follow along!  (and I hope you do!! )
  • If you follow on Bloglovin, it is currently still linked to the original blogger name and I will hopefully have this updated shortly.
  • Comments!  I love comments but I have heard from a few commenting has not been seamless. If you are having issues will you please email me (queeninbetween@gmail.com) and let me know so I can work to figure this out! #commentsaremyfavorite

A special shout out to Karli of September Farm and Karli Bell Branding who designed my new header as well as a media kit.   I love it and was quick to kick the cartoon queen to the curb. 🙂  Also to Becca of Jumping Jax Designs who created that precious cartoon queen (which I did love for 2.5 years) and converted my blog to this new beautiful clean layout.  She has also had to answer no less than 10K questions!  Becca also has some fun printables like these for the first day of school so you should visit even if you aren’t ready for a new look on the blog.

Vacationing

So what did I do on my vacation?  Well, I organized my pantry and I am still hearing the angels sing every single time I open the door!  I also pulled everything out of our coat closet and reorganized for a much, much cleaner look.  If I haven’t mentioned it before, I previously sold Creative Memories and own enough stock in scrapbooks for my all the pictures I’ve taken or will take for the rest of eternity.  They were all over the house and now they are neatly stored in the coat closet in a much more efficient way.   We also cleaned out a built in cabinet in the living room which holds movies and games and it is so much more orderly.  By the end of Wednesday we had tossed 2 bags of trash and taken 3 boxes to goodwill.

Then the real fun began!  I will recap soon but if you followed along on instagram or my insta-stories you know Carly Jo and I had a little road trip with our besties.  We had so much fun just being together; so much so that on the way home the girls said the best was the trip there.   We stopped in Waco so we were thinking that’s what they meant but, no, they honestly meant just being together in the car!  Silly girls.

Missing

Spring training!!  I seriously cannot believe I didn’t head to Florida but so glad Jordan went to see Riley.  I could really use a hug and some sunshine.

Meeting

I’ve been following Narci for several years and when I saw she had a few spots open for a photo session the same weekend we were having our girls getaway I knew we had to book her!  I loved her through social media but was not prepared for how adorable she is in person!  Totally real, totally bubbly, absolutely adorable!  My very first blogger meet up!

One of the biggest supporters I’ve had on my blog since just about day one is a sweet non-blogger from California.  Kim supports many I’m fairly confident and last night we finally met in person! She is on a road trip in Texas with her daughter and they made a pit stop through College Station.  We had some yummy food and a nice visit and hopefully she will still love us!  We interact daily with people online who we feel like we “know” even though we have never met in real life.  Social media is proof you can impact lives without ever actually being face to face.

Eating

A friend sent me a coupon to try Hello Fresh for free so I figured why not!  My timing was a little off and it arrived last Tuesday but I finally made the second dish last night and yum!  If you haven’t tried Hello Fresh yet you can sign up with this link (I will receive $20 towards my next box if you do) and receive a box at $40 off.  Keith and I love cooking together so this was something fun to try.  So far both meals were delicious and easy to prepare.

Wearing

Toms Booties (on sale)|Striped Bag|Sweater|Jeans

Yesterday I shared this pop of wine because, y’all, it will be 100 degrees before I know it and I’m going to soak up sweaters and booties as long as possible!  I’m all about some spring clothes but this outfit made me so happy this week.

Top|Vest|Spring Scarf(similar)|Shoes (lower wedge)

Here is another fun way to move into spring using layers but adding spring color!  These shoes are not “the shoe” I’ve been seeing and they did give me a bit of a fit after I wore for an extended period but I’m hoping now that they are stretched out they will be my go to spring shoe.  When in doubt, stand in front of a colorful wall and your outfit is instantly tops!

Now we are waiting to see all the goodness you guys have to link up with us today! Please add your link below and join the fun. Be sure and grab out graphic and link back to us.  Oh, and since this is a new link-up, please share away!

  1. If I blogged, I would totally link up right now! Thank you so much for such a fun and fabulous evening. I had such a wonderful time meeting you and Holly! I am so glad that I found your blog all those years ago, and it’s just amazing how people in different parts of the country are still all so much alike! How you are on your blog, and Instagram, is exactly how you are in real life! Such a joy!! At least now, when I talk about either one of you, I can truly say we are friends! Have a great rest of your week!

    1. So much fun Kim! I’m so glad you reached out and were able to come to College Station for visit. Next time we can meet up at your beach house. 😉 I hope you guys have a fun time the rest of your trip!

  2. So much goodness in this post! How cool that you got to meet TWO internet friends in one week! Is Riley playing on THE Astros this year or just spring training with them? I can’t wait to see more about your girls trip. The blog looks great! For some reason, it isn’t updating in the blog roll on the sidebar on my blog. It IS updating in my Feedly though. Maybe it will kick into gear on the sidebar soon? Anyway, have a wonderful Wednesday! If I can get my act together and get a Disney post up today, I’ll link up! 😉

    1. We actually will not know for another week where Riley will be assigned but we are really hoping for Corpus. At spring training they all wear the Astros jerseys. He did get to pitch to a few batters in one of the major league spring games last week though and that was really exciting! I totally know why I’m not updating in your scrollbar…it is probably redirecting from the old blogger site instead of http://www.thequeeninbetween.com but that’s just a guess. 😉 Can’t wait to read about y’alls trip!

  3. I can’t wait to see pics from your girls trip. What fun getting to meet Narci. She really does seem so sweet. AND getting to meet another “virtual” friend is so awesome! I tried on a pair of those shoes and wanted them to work but my narrow feet just flopped around in them…ugh…so hard to find the right shoes. Narrow feet, wide feet or some other issue make it a challenge for many, so I’m not alone. 😉 Thanks for the link up and Happy Friday Eve Eve.

  4. Love that grey sweater outfit! Oh my goodness, the criss cross tank you have underneath is so cute! I might have to give Hello Fresh a try too. Thanks for sharing!

  5. It’s amazing how a simple design can add so much flair to a blog! Loving the new look! It’s just like you…Grown and Sophisticated! I am so glad I saw your Instagram post to learn about this sweet little link up! Have you guys thought about a preset tweet for those linking up to send out so others can learn about the link up? Love linking up with you guys!
