Reading Lately – Fall Book Review

After starting the fall with Hotel Nantucket and not loving it, the next four books were all easy reads and I had no trouble turning the pages. See what I’ve been reading lately in the fall book review!

The Fifth Daughter of Thorn Ranch
Fifth Daughter of Thorn Ranch

I was gifted a copy of Fifth Daughter of Thorn Ranch and was excited since it is based in Texas and written by a Texas author. The main character even graduates from Texas A&M! The book is easy to read and was different than what I normally would have chosen for myself but I couldn’t put it down. Waiting to see if Emma Rosales would return to her family and take her place as the fifth daughter of Thorn ranch had me finishing this one over a weekend. This book is an Amazon kindle unlimited read as well.

Out of the Clear Blue Sky
Out of the Clear Blue Sky

Out of the Clear Blue Sky is a sweet story of love, loss and sweet revenge. I fell in love with Lillie for so many reasons and was cheering her on the entire book. Watching Lillie move through this new unexpected next chapter in her life, in midlife, and see her come out of it with a new dog, new bonds and a smile made me so happy.

Things We Never Got Over
Things We Never Got Over

Things We Never Got Over is a book I saw in a review and it was a cheap download from Amazon (also free with Kindle Unlimited) so I grabbed it. It definitely had my attention from the get go and I was definitely turning the pages to discover all the secrets from the past. It is a little racy in parts so if you aren’t into that you might skip this one. I also felt like there were some parts that didn’t seem very realistic but its a book so that’s why we escape there right? Overally this was an easy chic lit read.

Well Behaved Wives
Well Behaved Wives

I downloaded this book as part of the Amazon Prime Free Reads in October and I don’t always have high expectations. Well Behaved Wives is set in the 1960s as a group of young women form a friendship in an etiquette class. Together they form an unbreakable bond and stretch well beyond their comfort zones. For once, they’ll challenge what others expect from them, discover what they expect from themselves, and do whatever it takes to protect one of their own. I could not stop turning the pages of this book and read it in about 48 hours. All the characters were established well and I felt like I knew them by the end.

Now I’m looking for some feel good stories with cozy wintery settings and I’ll also be diving into my advent resources to celebrate the season. Do you have some holiday stories I should add to my list?

You can find all the 2022 book reviews here! Happy reading.
