The Queen’s Chronicles – Rounding Up the Holidays
Happy New Year friends! I’m still in vacation mode over here for a couple of days but really wanted to tie up our December with a quick post of our last few weeks. I try to use The Queen’s Chronicles as our little diary throughout the year and sometimes there is enough going on to be a weekly post but lately it seems my picture game is week and it has been more of a catchup!
Here’s a look at what’s been happening here!
A quick trip to my hometown in mid December to take my Mamaw to the doctor and Carly Jo played hooky from school and joined me.
Janac Christmas on the 23rd and we were only missing 9 cousins! Quite the crew and they are all growing up so fast!
We spent Christmas Eve with Keith’s mom and sister and the kids eating prime rib and snacks and opening gifts. I always try to purchase a game for us to play and this year Watch Yo Mouth was the winner. We laughed so hard! We headed out to Target for our now annual stocking stuffer shopping trip. I shelled out $20 to each family member and we browsed the aisles looking for the a stocking stuffer for each person in the family. This has become a favorite for us!
Christmas morning is my favorite because it is the only day of the year all of my babies wake up in my house for sure! We took no pictures of our morning because we were too busy enjoying each other. I did round them up for our annual Christmas morning picture and it never disappoints as you can see with this years winner!
We then headed to my hometown Christmas evening and celebrated with my family the day after Christmas and managed a few pictures to capture the day and those we love. My poor nephew Myles is in that weird smile phase and the more he was told to smile “right” the more upset he became. Sweet boy!
On the 27th Carly & Dillon headed off to Charlotte, North Carolina with Aunt Amy for the Belk bowl to cheer on the Aggies!
Huge bonus when your best friends also happened to be there! Ice skating, an NBA game, touring UNC campus…and of course attending the Belk bowl were just some of the highlights. They had an amazing time and I was just a little jealous!
Meanwhile, I have been back home pulling everything out of all 3 of the front bedrooms so they could be repainted. After the painting was done I moved some furniture around and headed to Ikea for new beds in Carly and Dillon’s rooms. After getting back home I realized I purchased the WRONG bed for Carly and that really set back my progress. Dillon’s room is all done once I hang pictures on the wall and today I will be trying to put Carly’s new room together. If you follow me on Instagram then you followed along on my stories last week and hopefully prayed for me and the mess! Ha!
I better get off this computer and get busy because I do have to go back to work this week and having the house put back together will be key to a clear mind! Hope you are all off to a beautiful 2018!
I love catching up with your goings on. I watched your stories all through the week, but usually the volume was off, so I had no idea what was really going on. I LOVE the accent wall in Dillon’s room (I did hear that part). So sorry about Carly Jo’s bed. UGH. That is the pits. You are whipping things into shape woman! I need to get motivated too. On a side note, that yellow painted paneling in what I assume is your moms house, I love paneling that’s been painted. It just really does something for an old room. Happy 2018 friend! So happy 2017 brought us together in this crazy blog world. XOXO
It is a disaster over here right now except for Dillon’s room! ha! And I’m still laying in bed drinking coffee and really need to get a grib and a move on. Ugh…I was suppose to be off the entire week and now I have to head back to work on Thursday so I really ned to knock the remaining list out. And I wish that was my moms house….hers is still covered in paneling . 🙂 This is my brothers house and I they have a really old home that has character and I love this room with all the natural light.
Loved catching up with you guys but can we please do this in person – and soon! The pics from Christmas with your family are wonderful and I was so glad we got to spend some time with the kids in Charlotte. Here’s to a fabulous 2018! Love you!

So much sweet family time and of course, go Aggies! Love the bedroom too! Happy New Year, friend!
I love the holidays so much and I’m always sad to see them end. Looks like you all had a great holiday – I wish we had a big family – all those cousins just looks like such a blast! I haven’t been nearly as productive as I had hoped but I managed to read 4 books! So now you know what I spent the majority of the break doing, lol!
Happy New Year friend!
