The Queen’s Chronicles – Mother’s Day

· ·

Mother’s Day weekend was a little bit crazy but what part of this motherhood journey hasn’t been.  In my wildest dreams I would not have imagined bringing babies into this world would present me with so many emotions.  I am abundantly blessed to have been raised by a strong mom and so grateful for the chance to be a mom to my four treasures.

Friday I was able to tag along with Carly Jo on her field trip.  It was so fun watching her interact with her peers.

After work I stopped by the store and decided a simple dinner on the patio was the perfect way to kick off Mother’s Day weekend! Y’all, I have not been eating cheese on on the regular and it was so yummy.  I think we have decided this is the perfect way to end the workweek and it may become a new tradition.

Saturday morning we were up bright and early to head towards my home town.  Keith is itching to upgrade our boat and this is the one he really wants.  It was sold before we had a chance to buy it but we looked at all that were available and I think he’s going to order one just like this.

I stopped by to visit with my Mamaw and took her out for pie and coffee.  Y’all, I started calling her when we left College Station and never did I catch her in her room.  She is still so social and spends most of her days down the hall playing dominoes.  We had a nice visit even though it was super short.

On to Mexican food and a little visit with my own mom before we had to head back home.

Keith and Carly Jo actually hit the store at the crack of dawn and I had these beautiful flowers along with cards when I finally decided to get out of bed.  It was such a sweet surprise!

After church we headed for brunch and I just thought it was touch getting a picture with little kids.  The outtakes of this crew were too funny.

Jordan’s besties also happen to be my trainers and they joined us for brunch too.  I mean…we actually look more like sisters right?  🙂

Not to be left out, Riley sent me his heartfelt thanks via snapchat!  We always laugh because people are always asking where in the world he got such a big bottom half from…umm…hello?!!  He actually had a day off this past week and we were able to have breakfast and catch up AND he paid!

He also really enjoys harassing me about my blog too!

I may have only read about 3 pages and spent the rest of the time napping but it was a treat to just relax a bit.  After I woke up a bit Carly and I headed out for some last minute errands for a conference I’m co-chairing on Monday before coming home to dinner on the grill.

Best part is my sweet hubby did all the grocery shopping, cooking and even the cleaning up today.  It was delicious AND there are leftovers which means momma is off kitchen duty tomorrow too!

These two even drug out there Eno hammocks and we are now wondering why we don’t do this more.  Perfect evening.

Hope all you moms reading were able to spend some time with those most precious to you.

  2. What a great weekend you all had! Sounds like the perfect way to spend Mother’s Day and I might have to steal your Friday night dinner idea. I love simple dinners like this and my family would love it.

  3. Y’all ate GOOD this weekend, girl! There’s just something about a good cheeseboard that makes for the perfect dinner. Half of the time I’m just as happy with that as I am a home-cooked meal! Happy Mother’s Day! I’m glad you enjoyed your weekend.

  4. I just snapped you about the Riley ones. LOL too much! Can you send Keith out to teach Tony to cook? Ok thanks!
