Priming Lately – Bathroom Update
It’s been a bit since I’ve shared any Amazon finds so I thought I’d join my friend Tanya today and share what I have been priming lately for our bathroom update. Hop on over to The Other Side of the Road and see what others are priming.
We recently had a small remodel done in our guest bathroom due to a water leak that damaged the ceiling. I’ve been wanting to upgrade the tile forever as well as paint our cabinets and replace the door fronts to something more modern. When I found this tile, it became my inspiration as it pulled in both gray and tan which are both in this space on our walls, tile and granite. We currently have Revere Pewter on the wallls and ceiling throughout our home and I chose this Aganthus Green for our cabinets.
It is almost complete and pretty much all of my prime purchases of late have been items for this little space. Here are a few of the things I’ve been priming lately.
Because we added new cabinet fronts, I needed new hardware. We replaced all of our doorknobs and hinges last spring with matte black finishes and decided to continue that look in the bathroom. I grabbed these handles and knobs and love the way they turned out. Very simple but a clean updated look.
Organizing spaces is one of my favorite things and I’m always looking to find a better way to use our closets, drawers and cabinets. Having a house that functions smoothly goes a long way to making me feel less chaotic. Of course the first step is always making sure the space isn’t filled with items we no longer utilize which seems to be a never ending process! So just like when I organized our pantry, I turned to Amazon to look for some items to help.
This set of 2 clear drawer organizers to use under the sink. Carly still uses this bathroom daily but the cabinets and drawers were out of control with 20 years worth of random cubbies and junk that had accumulated. We purged a lot and used a few old items but this worked great to hold some of her supplies and fit neatly under the cabinet. I’ll use the 2nd set for my bathroom.
The counter top in the bathroom always seems to be a hot mess. Before the remodel, Carly was using an acrylic organizer but it just didn’t seem to be meeting all her needs and didn’t always look aesthetically pleasing. I grabbed this two tiered shelf and it worked so well with the other accents in the room. The little side basket was perfect for Carly’s makeup brushes.
Hair ties and bobby pins seem to multiply in our house and rarely end up at home base. I grabbed these apothocary jars in hopes to coral a few things in plain veiw but still look tidy in our new bathroom.
Lastly, we replaced the oudated light fixture with this more modern one. We couldn’t believe how much brighter it made the bathroom! We did not replace our mirrors and the only thing I will say is had I been here when they were hanging the light fixture I would have had it mouted higher on the wall. We will be doing basically the same remodel to our master bath later in the fall and I will most likely have them adjust the light at that time.
I’m still on the hunt for the perfect drawer organizer as the drawers are on the narrow side and so far what I have found just doesn’t seem the most efficient. Getting this space all set to help our girl start her senior year as organized as possible is my goal!
Of course, an updated bathroom meant updated towels and I headed to TJ Maxx to pick up some new ones in plain white. I also added a new white bath mat which may be the death of me….but maybe bleach will be my new best friend!
I can’t stop wandering into this little bathroom to admire the change! It’s amazing what a little refresh can do for a home. Hopefully I can take some pics this week and show you the full reveal!
