Prime Finds – Spring Break
We are traveling for Spring Break and for the first time in a really, really long time, it does not involve baseball. This year, instead, we are headed to Hawaii for 9 days and as you can imagine I’m pretty excited. It’s been almost three years since we have taken any sort of extended vacation and the last trip was to Montana so my preparation has been a little different. Here are a few prime finds I’ve picked up as well as some new swimsuits.
I’m linking up with my friend Tanya for Prime Purchases!
We are traveling as part of a group on the way to Hawaii with Carly’s drill team and while we are flying Southwest, we will also be on charter busses to the airport and the hotel so due to space, everyone has been limited to one checked bag. I may also be an over packer and have passed that down to Carly so I was a tad bit worried for this trip and ordered this handy luggage scale to be sure we stay under 50 pounds! I bought this same gadget for Riley when he was traveling a ton and it works really well.
Obviously, we will be taking tons of pictures and I will be carrying my “big girl” camera. I wanted a mini tripod that would work for my big camera but wouldn’t take up too much space. This tripod holds a little over a pound so I’m hopeful it works out well. It does not come with a phone attachment but I do have another I can bring along.
Packing cubes really have made a huge difference for me not only to be able to fit more into my suitcase in a less half hazard way but also to help me unpack faster when I arrive. For an extended trip, I really do like to be sure to put my clothes into the closet and drawers. I’ve had a set for awhile but ordered these for Carly to try this trip.
While I don’t plan on doing much work on our trip, I rarely travel without my laptop. I have a darling daily laptop backpack but was really wanting something that would hold a bit more for the longer trip. I grabbed this travel backpack and am hoping I’ll be able to pack a swimsuit and one change of clothes just in case our bags don’t arrive with us. It also has a shoe compartment which I thought was handy.
A hat will be a must but I’m always on the struggle bus as to how to carry it. I saw this hat clip and decided it was worth a try. I’ll report back as to how it works out!
There will be lots of beach time and I haven’t purchased a new swimsuit since about 2018 so I decided Hawaii was a good enough reason for a splurge. I also wanted some suits that “felt” more tropical. La Blanca Swim is one of my favorite brands and I was happy to find several styles availabe with Prime Try Before You Buy. I grabbed seven but these four were the ones I loved the most.
I really did not need them all and the first floral was my least favorite on me so that was an easy decision to return. The general consensus when I showed these on Instagram was the black and the last print. I love the black swimsuit and the black swimsuit I already had was purchased in 2017 so I decided it was a win. The last print felt so tropical and was probably my favorite of the patterns so it stayed too. I realized that I somehow snagged the geometric print for $59 (it was not on the prime try before you buy) and decided that was a sign it needed to stay too! It is still available in this print at this price in sizes 6-14 which is a steal for the quality.
Now it will be time to close up shop on my Amazon prime shopping for awhile so we can start saving for our next vacation! What are you priming this spring?
