Pin Spin August
It’s time for a little Pin Spin and I’m sharing a few outfits I pulled together with a little “pinspiration” from others. In case I’ve never shared with you, dressing myself has not always been easy. Most of my life I literally wore pieces exactly as I bought them in the store and would have never ventured out to try a new combo. Pinterest changed my life! I love grabbing ideas from others who pull a combos together so effortlessly.
Head over and visit My Glittery Heart for all the Pin It and Spin It in her monthly linkup!
First up is this combo which was originally inspired by my friend and fellow Texas momma Jesse Coulter. If you don’t follow her already she has great stylea and the cutest kids but my favorite thing about her is she shoots life straight! I showed off this skirt and all my favorite pieces from a recent Target try on last week.
Of course the first time I saw my sweet friend Kellyann sporting the pink blazer with her little skirt I knew I had to pair these pieces together. This is a prime example of how seeing what someone else is wearing inspired me to create a new combo from pieces I already had hanging out in my closet! This little skirt has been so versatile.
Here’s that skirt again and I found yet another way to style it! I try to only keep pieces if I can initially think of 3 ways to pull it together. Last week I grabbed this denim vest to toss on over a sundress and questioned whether it was still in style or not. Now I don’t care because I’ve thought of like 15 ways to wear it and it’s been hanging out unworn for way too long! This one is on sale for under $20!
How darling is One Small Blonde in her combo? Not sure I nailed this one but it was a fun way to pull together some old pieces with some new pieces in my closet. A new pair of nude heels were on my wish list and I grabbed these during the Nsale and they have been a win. The cheaper spin on these can be found here.
Update on this animal print tee. I’ve ordered in a medium and a large and both crew and v-neck. I would stick with TTS but defintely like the v-neck vs the crew neck.
So how about you? Do you gain inspiration from browsing Pinterest for outfit combos? I’ve gotten out of this habit but have been feeling a little stale about my closet. Finding new combos, or even just remembering some old ones I haven’t tried in awhile definitely helps keep my closet fresh and allows me to use my pieces efficiently.
