Pastels + Ageless Style Link-up

·

It’s the 1st Tuesday of the month and that means it’s time for the Ageless Style Link-up where ten 40+ women share their style. Daenel of Living Outside the Stacks chose the theme of pastels perfect for April.  I was shocked looking through my closet to realize I must be a bold color girl as there were not too many pastels to choose from.

When these jeans arrived in February as part of my (favorite ever) Stitch Fix, I wasn’t quite sure about the color.  What was I thinking?  I’ve already found so many ways to style all perfect for spring.

Kimono (similar) here and here

How I’ve managed to only survive with one kimono in my closet I’m not quite sure.  I grabbed this one late last summer and it has been on major repeat lately.   This was a first time combining with the lilac jeans but I’m positive it will not be the last.  Of course, pattern mixing is always one of my favorites and adding this striped clutch was a fun touch.

I love how adding a darker color makes the pastels pop just a little more and this easy t-shirt is so comfortable. Wearing neutral sandals (my fave from 3  years ago) keeps the focus on the colors of this outfit.  Of course, making sure a fresh pedi is on the calendar is much more important this time of year.  My two favorite pastel colors are Mod About You and Gelato on my Mind.

And speaking of pastels, have you seen this clutch at Stella & Dot?!!  It is so  adorable and, y’all, it sold out the very first day they opened sales to customers.  I was not smart enough to grab mine immediately but you can bet when it was available again I placed an order.  It is currently available but sadly backordered until June.  I decided it would be worth the wait and a nice surprise when it does arrive! I heard from a friend who received hers this week and she gave a glowing report!

If you love the pattern of this kimono, Gray Monroe currently has the same pattern in this adorable maxi!

  4. I always want you to not love your Stitch finds and then just hand them over to me. Those pants are no exception.

  5. Purple pants = love! I’m a bold color girl, too. I think since I’m so pale, I tend to stick with jewel tones, but I definitely need to try some lilac in my life!

  6. Glad you came to your senses about those lavender jeans. What a color! And fit!!! I am wearing a lot of colored denim to school. Feel like I am just skirting around the no blue jeans dress code while still looking professional-ish. Love that boho clutch from Stella & Dot and can completely understand how it has sold out twice.
