Pastels + Ageless Style Link-up
It’s the 1st Tuesday of the month and that means it’s time for the Ageless Style Link-up where ten 40+ women share their style. Daenel of Living Outside the Stacks chose the theme of pastels perfect for April. I was shocked looking through my closet to realize I must be a bold color girl as there were not too many pastels to choose from.
When these jeans arrived in February as part of my (favorite ever) Stitch Fix, I wasn’t quite sure about the color. What was I thinking? I’ve already found so many ways to style all perfect for spring.
Kimono (similar) here and here
How I’ve managed to only survive with one kimono in my closet I’m not quite sure. I grabbed this one late last summer and it has been on major repeat lately. This was a first time combining with the lilac jeans but I’m positive it will not be the last. Of course, pattern mixing is always one of my favorites and adding this striped clutch was a fun touch.
I love how adding a darker color makes the pastels pop just a little more and this easy t-shirt is so comfortable. Wearing neutral sandals (my fave from 3 years ago) keeps the focus on the colors of this outfit. Of course, making sure a fresh pedi is on the calendar is much more important this time of year. My two favorite pastel colors are Mod About You and Gelato on my Mind.
And speaking of pastels, have you seen this clutch at Stella & Dot?!! It is so adorable and, y’all, it sold out the very first day they opened sales to customers. I was not smart enough to grab mine immediately but you can bet when it was available again I placed an order. It is currently available but sadly backordered until June. I decided it would be worth the wait and a nice surprise when it does arrive! I heard from a friend who received hers this week and she gave a glowing report!
If you love the pattern of this kimono, Gray Monroe currently has the same pattern in this adorable maxi!

Mod About You is my all time favorite nail color, in fact people actually ask me what I’m wearing when I have it on my toes or fingernails! I just love it. Also loving your kimono, and that striped clutch has me all kinds of giddy! Lookin’ fab lady!

Me too Kellyann!! I always come back to it. And I have honestly been surprised how much I’ve loved the striped clutch and my striped tote. Definitely price per wear pieces for me that paid off!
Hello 29 year old, man, you look amazing and so Spring fresh!!! LOVE the pants and the kimono print is out of this world pretty!! I need that nail polish. Have a terrific Tuesday lovely lady!!
Thanks sweet lady…..oh to be 29! Hope you are having a super week!
Purple is my favorite color, so of course I love those pants! I think they look great with the kimono, too! Enjoy your day!
How did I not know that?!! Of course I’m positive you would pair with some leopard right?!!

Brenda that is so kind! Thank you so much for a day making comment!
That kimono, it is just the prettiest ever! Every time I see you wear it I swoon a little more. This look is perfection.
I seriously think I tried a dozen before falling for this one!
I love your jeans! And, yes, a kimono is fantastic, and yours is extra special because of the fabulous print! Getting a kimono or two is on my list…

Kimonos are fantastic and a great piece to add personality and flare to any outfit.
They have also been good at hiding the love handles. 🙂
Love your lavender jeans, they are so fantastic! Your kimono is just gorgeous. Love this entire look!

That kimono is perfect styled with those jeans. I think this theme made us all stretch a little bit…
Thanks for suggesting it Daenel. It made me so happy I headed right out and bought some blush dress pants!

I’m truly loving them more than I realized I would.
I always want you to not love your Stitch finds and then just hand them over to me. Those pants are no exception.
ha! As if you could wear my size friend!!
Purple pants = love! I’m a bold color girl, too. I think since I’m so pale, I tend to stick with jewel tones, but I definitely need to try some lilac in my life!
These have been fun Allie! I’m wearing again today. 🙂 It helps that my sons high school team colors are purple and black so I’m stretching the purple.
You’ve reminded me to pull out my kimono! Love this whole outfit, and those pants are perfection!
I seriously didn’t realize how much I needed a kimono in my closet Lana!
That is such a pretty kimono and I love the lavender pants!
Thanks so much Mary! I’m so happy they happened to be hanging near each other in my closet!
Thank you Mary! I’m seriously wearing these pants again today styled another way. Super shocked by how much I love them.

Glad you came to your senses about those lavender jeans. What a color! And fit!!! I am wearing a lot of colored denim to school. Feel like I am just skirting around the no blue jeans dress code while still looking professional-ish. Love that boho clutch from Stella & Dot and can completely understand how it has sold out twice.
