Optimism Challenge – Friday Favorites

·

With all the crazy going on in the news lately, it can sometimes be tough to stay positive.  I ran across the Frost Bank Opt for Optimism 30 day challenge awhile back when Jesse mentioned it on her blog.  I signed up but evidently never completed the process and somewhat forgot about it until I ran across an email this past week.  If you are looking for something fun to do yourself or with your family to bring a little sunshine to your day, you should totally join me!  For 30 days you will receive an email a day with a simple challenge.

5 Things I'm Grateful For #optimismchallenge #grateful

For instance, day one was all about listing 5 things you are grateful for and posting somewhere prominent as a reminder this month!  I thought I’d share with you today.

One | Overflowing grace!  Not that this even needs an explanation but seeing as how I spent the first, oh, 38 years of my life thinking I needed to earn God’s grace I’m so grateful it is free.

Two | Health!  As I approach 49 I’m quickly reminded just how grateful I should be for good health.  I am still able to be physically active and rarely get sick.  It is just such a blessing to feel good!

Three | Family! I’m so grateful to have a husband who drives me crazy but loves me hard.  I can’t even with how blessed I’ve been to receive in my care four amazing humans!  They all come with their unique qualities and I just love them all so much even when it’s not easy.  I’m also just so grateful to still have my momma in my life and need to work on making our time together special.

Five | Good friends.  I’ve been so incredibly blessed to welcome some of the most amazing women into my life.  I wish I had been able to set aside my insecurities at a much younger age as I’m sure there were amazing women I missed out on! Having my girls to chat with, confide in and air grievances to is the best therapy!

Five | Financial security.  I know what it’s like to live paycheck to paycheck.  There were many times I wrote that $25 minimum payment check to a credit card that was maxed out and couldn’t even imagine how I could ever see a debt free life.  I’m so grateful to have experienced the really tough times because it makes me appreciate where we are now.  It also makes me forever conscious of how quickly things could change.

What are you grateful for today?  Will you consider joining this fun challenge?

Wishing you all a beautiful weekend!
