One Dress 3 Ways
So I cleaned up my eating in April and have had so much fun shopping y’all….shopping my closet! Getting back to eating a diet high in protein, managing my carbs and limiting my sugar intake has allowed me to whittle away a little winter middle I have been carrying around since about the winter of 2013!! Good thing I haven’t perfected that closet purge I claim to be so good at.
I purchased this dress way back in 2012…I remember specifically purchasing to wear to one of Riley’s senior baseball games. Am I the only one that can date my clothes based on some life event? I remember wearing it with some cute wedges, walking into the stands and having a mom say “You look like Barbie”. I’m still not sure that it was a compliment but I took it.
This jacket has been longing for some love for the three years I’ve owned it. Until today I never even considered it with this dress but I’m thinking it has made a friend.
I could definitely wear this to work and feel pulled together.
My black DV wedges are from last season but I am still getting lots of wear out of them. This pair is similar style and brand and this snakeskin pair I ordered this week! I’m also really digging these but they are a little above my price point.
I am a Texas girl at heart so wearing my boots is always a possibility. My mom bought me a pair of Old Gringos several years back and they just get better with age. Similar here & here.
A blue jean jacket is always a great option and can really be dressed up or down. It is tricky to find the perfect jean jacket as I definitely want it to be somewhat soft and so many are stiff. This one from old navy looks promising. This dress would also be super cute with a blue jean vest like this one.
And finally dressing it down just a bit with my Chuck Taylor’s and a fun hat. If Mother Nature continues to insist on all this rain you may be seeing a lot of hats around here! My hair has been a disaster.
It sounds like you've been extremely productive lately! Go you! Love this dress on you, it looks fab with the cowboy boots 🙂
Mili
Thanks Mili….I feel so much better and that is the biggest perk!
Love having something I can wear a bunch of different ways! You look great!!!!
I really, really wish I was able to "see" the outfits more clearly a lot sooner and maybe I wouldn't be a perpetual shopper!!!
My favorite is with Chuck T's and the hat:)))!!! I need to cut out sugar…so hard:(!!!
xx
Thanks! I really never knew how much I would wear those shoes!
You're lookin' good…congrats on the healthy eating! I love all three looks, but especially the sassy look with the cowboy boots.
Spoken like a true Texan! Thanks Tanya…have a great day! I'm ready for some sunshine.
Love how you switched up the look! With the top of the dress so adorable, I never would have considered adding a jacket or blazer, but it totally works! Love it with the boots too!

Thanks Stacie! This dress has always been hard for me because of the cute top. I'm a scarf girl and just always felt like it need something and couldn't decide.
Good for you for changing your eating habits! I'm starting the 21-day fix next week and hoping to lose my "winter" weight. I gained 5 lbs in Hawaii and haven't worked very hard to get it off. And you look super, by the way!!
Great dress and I love it with the boots!
Thanks you! The boots are my fave too!
Love, love, love that dress! Good for you for changing your eating habits. I am trying to do better myself and it's been a bit of a challenge. Very motivating to hear your story!!!
Thank you Karen. The older I get the more creative I have to get to make sure my eating provides the right results. It's not just about cutting calories anymore for sure. Have a great week!
Cute blog!! I love the design! Grear 3 ways post! I love the first look with the striped blazer!

Thanks Christie….and thanks for co-hosting the link up!
I am the same way with my clothes lol 😉 I think that's when you know you love clothes! I really like how you paired this dress 3 different ways. Dresses are always tricky, to try and spice it up different ways. I would wear all 3 options.
Melissa
Thank you Melissa! I am always just "5 lbs away" from being able to wear everything I once loved! haha….whether it will still be in style is the million dollar question. Have a great week!
I love posts that show us how to style a piece several ways! I think my favorite is the denim jacket look. That color contrast is lovely! Susan
Thank you Susan! I think a blue jean jacket is always an easy way to add a little interest to an outfit. Have a great week!
Way to go changing up that dress! I love the dress/jean jacket/ boots combo. I'm a Texas girl too and haven't owned any boots yet. That will be changed soon. 🙂
You rock it all 3 ways!
Cute dress! I totally date things in my closet based on the event I bought them for. And I also love those black wedges. I may be biased though because I have them in a different color combo. 🙂
Adorable! I love all of them, but the boots and tennies are my favorite. I'm inspired to find a denim jacket now. You're so right about finding one that is comfortable. I don't usually like them because they are so stiff.
Thanks so much for sharing!
I would totally give the jacket at Loft a try too….I have seen several good reviews on it! Have a great week Heather!
That dress is gorgeous, such a great and flattering color.

Nice! And you've given me inspiration for another way to wear my similar pin-striped blazer 🙂

For real Jen….I've had both pieces at least 3 years and had never even thought to pull them together!! Thank goodness for the blog world and Pinterest…I'm finally learning to dress myself! haha
This dress 3 ways post was my favorite remix post you did last year. Those black wedges are phenomenal and I know you wore them a lot. I love them and I need a similar pair this Summer. While all outfits are great, I love the dressier yet casual enough first outfit with the striped blazer. And I am huge fan of a summer dress being paired with a blue denim jacket. Last but not least I love the plum color of your dress.
