Oh My Stars – 4th of July Looks

Today I’m sharing a few pieces I purchased from the Avara oh my stars collection that make the perfect 4th of July looks. I don’t know about you but the 4th in Texas is always super hot which means I’m looking for lightweight fabrics that breathe well. We will be keeping it casual this year at the beach for the 4th and I can’t wait t pack a few of these pieces to take along. Use code SHELLY15 while you are shopping for a discount!

Dress

I had my eye on this red dress for awhile and finally decided to give it a try. After checking out all the stats, I decided to try it in a medium. It fits well and is long enough but has just a slight pull at the bottom buttons. I think I would have probably felt just a little more comfortable in the large but I kept it anyway and will make it work. It really is a darling dress that comes in several colors and also comes in a similar style top.

If a fabric that wrinkles drives you crazy, you might want to try this striped style that is almost an identical style but comes in a different fabric. I used my new favorite steamer to get this one ready to wear but it definitely continued to wrinkle from sitting during the day so I will try a little starch and a real iron for my next wear.

I’m obsessed with this darling dress and have already worn it twice. Sadly it was a quick sell out but there are so many other cute options to choose from that are similar. My sandals are still a favorite and still available.

How darling is this top? I received this top from Avara as part of my “earned” pieces and I couldn’t be happier. A chambray shirt is always a win in the closet and the sleeve detail and darling gold buttons give it an extra sweet touch. I’ve been pairing with my white jeans but definitely am excited to find other ways to wear it.

I love a fun top that works for the office but also for the weekend! This one has a linen feel and will definitely look cute with slacks and even under a blazer but so far I’ve paired with my wide leg jeans and these denim shorts. Speaking of the denim shorts, they are super stretchy and a great midlife length. They come in sizes small through x-large and I actually purchased the x-large because I wanted to be sure they were comfortable.

After preaching about the summer heat, here I am in a sweater! I really am hoping the evenings are cool enough at the beach for me to sport this one on one of our evenings because it is so good! Unfortunately it was also a quick sell out but here is a similar option. I typically save flag wear for the 4th or Memorial Day but have been reassured that these days the flag can be sported anytime!

Do you have fun plans for the 4th of July? Last year we spent time at the lake and this year I’m excited to share the beach with our Haisley girl. It seems to be a good week for us to gather all the kids each year and I hope it continues to be a tradition.

  1. I love how these came together. I feel you in that sweater…it’s so adorable, but who knows, maybe the AC will be on full blast,
