New Beauty Picks
It’s been a bit since I shared any beauty favorites and since I stocked up recently with my 20% off Ulta coupon I thought I would give a little run down on the new products I’m trying along with the faves I restocked.
Hair
So Kenra 25 has been my go to hairspray for several years and I love the hold it gives my hair but it also adds stiffness and makes my hair feel more crunchy than I would like. It also drives me absolutely bonkers that it almost always clogs. In the past, I’ve used Big Sexy Hair spray & play and was going to grab it again before seeing Healthy Sexy Hair. This spray is giving my hair hold but there is no stiffness at all. I’m thinking I should stock up right now while Ulta has it buy 2 get 1 free. Even Dillon made a comment about how much better it is! Yes, my boys use my hairspray. 🙂
Honestly grabbed this Kenra Blow-Dry Spray because I totally blanked on restocking my It’s a 10! With my super fine hair it’s always iffy whether these sprays will do the job without leaving a greasy film. This product has performed as promised by cutting dry time but is also leaving my hair shiny without any greasiness. Kind of glad I tried it!
The best purchase I’ve made, however, has been a new Hot Tools 1 inch curling iron. I’ve been on the struggle bus HUGE with my hair the past 3 months and finally decided to try a smaller barrel curling iron to see if I could get the curl to hold. So far it is looking like this may do the trick! Right now when you buy a Hot Tools curling iron you receive a Hot Tools flat iron as a free gift! I was also able to pair the $3.50 off coupon and shipping was free so I was fairly happy about this overall.
Eyes
The Epic mascara from Younique has been my go to mascara for probably a year and I love it. My only issue is remembering to order it and I hate having to pay shipping. I also really, really love to grab things on sale and decided to try out the Bang Badgal mascara with my Ulta coupon. The applicator has tons of super tiny brushes which work so well to touch every little eyelash I have which is huge for me since I need all the help I can get! The length I’m getting is great but it doesn’t dry super fast which is always a pain point to me. I end up with mascara above my eye crease and have also noticed it is “bleeding” under my eyes and under my eyebrow during the day. The Epic mascara is the only I’ve found thus far that does not do this on me. If you guys have any secrets on this one I’d love to hear it! I do also use the Loreal primer which I think I’ve probably been using for 20 years.
The Goof Proof brow pencil was also a previously shared beauty favorite and it’s still going strong. Until about a year ago I had never filled in my brows at all and this has been such a fun change for me. I feel really odd now if I do not do my eyebrows. This product is easy to use even for a non makeup pro like myself. On this shopping trip I also picked up the High Brow Highlight & Life pencil. I can imagine it will last practically forever because I just use it quickly under the curve in my brow to give a little highlight and I love the result.
Lips
I shared a few Fridays back my new favorite for lips but here it is again because I’m still just totally crazy over how much I love this product! Long lasting color plus lots of moisture and I seriously may never use another product. So far this Lancome lip laquer is a huge win for me and I can’t wait to grab more colors. Right now I’m using Nuit & Jour.
My lips are so super dry and if I do not stay on top of it they will be peeling. The Rodan + Fields Lips serum is pricey but I really do love how quickly it restores my lips. Dillon is also very sensitive to the cold/wind and it will turn his chapped lips around over night.
Do you have some new beauty finds I should add to my list? I asked the question on Instagram this week so I’ll ask you guys too what is your favorite moisturizing lotion? I’m seriously like a gator this time of year!
Just a quick side note, if you do not use Ebates it is the perfect time to sign up. I fail to use it throughout the year but during the holiday season you will sometimes see 10% cash back at many of your favorite stores so it pays to add the additional savings just by linking through Ebates. I almost always receive about $100 cash back in February just based off my Christmas shopping. You can sign up here and if you do make sure to add the chrome extension. With the extension as soon as you head to shop a page the Ebates notification will pop up to notify you of any cash back.
