Moms Rock May Style Challenge

Good morning loves!  I’ve been on a bit of a hiatus as the thoughts in my brain seem to be just bouncing off one another these days with no real focus.   It may just be I’m using all the resources to stay on top of the Moms Rock May Style challenge I am hosting on Instagram.  Have you had a chance to stop by and share your style?

May is almost halfway over so I thought it would be fun to share the looks so far.  It is not too late to join the fun.  Need some incentive…there will be some drawings this weekend for prizes and again at the end for those who tag #momsrockmaystyle.  The full month of prompts can be found below.

So let’s take a look at the how the month has shaped up thus far!  Full disclosure….I picked songs I knew I could create an outfit around and did not pay so much attention to lyrics or political correctness so you’ll just have to forgive me. I also tried really hard to plan days to work well for the work week and the weekend but may have failed a time or two!

Seriously, nothing easier than back in black!  An easy dress, my fave black heels and a pop of color was all I needed to meet this challenge.

I shared this look with Ageless Style for May. Turns out there isn’t much brown in my closet but these wedges and a good animal print work just fine.

Ahh…Purple Rain!  I shared some random facts about the movie and popped on a forgotten belt with a fave purple dress.  This dress is several years old but I love it so much and the belt gave it a little different look.

Blue jeans would probably be my go to piece if I could choose an every day look but this yellow henley stole the show!  This has been one of the most popular looks for the month and I showed it off here on the blog for you guys last week. Don’t worry keep scrolling as it has already made a second appearance!

Huge fail….as I didn’t account for Cinco de Mayo in so my yellow was very mellow!  I pulled in a pop with my Noonday bracelet.  I may or may not have bought these shoes for my Mother’s Day gift this year.  I felt a little guilty but my mom paid me to do her taxes so I treated myself.

I wore one of my fave cold shoulder pieces to a dinner with Carly to hit the Black Betty prompt.  You can see, I’m also still crushing on these wedges.

I’ve definitely been digging gold for the past several years after pretty much wearing silver the 10 years before!  This is one of my favorite pieces.  I’m also pretty crazy about this open cardigan over a favorite tank that actually fits again!

Black or white?  Why choose when they work so well together!  I’ve had lots of meetings lately so this outfit worked perfectly.  You can never go wrong with a great black skirt and I added just a little pop of color to complete.  Excuse my over heated fake smile!  It too will reappear in the challenge.  Ha! 

I want so badly to love this pink top but it quickly headed to the donate pile when I arrived home from work.  I love to wear pink but this top is just not flattering or comfortable…bye, bye.

Totally cheated again!  This outfit is actually one I wore last summer and again this past weekend but on Orange Crush day I was crushing it at my job and never got around to taking a decent picture of my “real” outfit.

I always know when I’m wearing my true colors because people will comment as to how the color looks on me.  These are definitely some of my true colors.  This tank is so adorable but I really, really think I needed to size down and it sold out before I had the chance.  Still debating.

Probably not alot of people know what a snapback is and had it not been for this song I would not have either!  I do love a good hat day and one more chance to go without fixing my hair!  We were in Corpus Christi which is always super duper windy so I planned this one perfectly!

Another little fail as I have plenty of red in my closet but just didn’t plan the calendar well.  We were heading to a Hooks game and there was no way I was wearing red when they lean towards blue.  We did happen along this fun fence so I figured it works!

Another crazy day volunteering at a conference and running back and forth to meetings meant no time for a picture of this outfit on.  Someday I will perfect the flatlay….maybe!  Seriously though, if you are still looking for a great summer wedge this is the one!

And y’all, here’s the yellow top again but this time I combined with a favorite skirt.  I needed to wear stilettos for this challenge and I’m kind of over the moon crazy at how this outfit came together!  I popped on my new Stella & Dot earrings and these heels and felt sassy all day long!
