{Mini} Treats Thursday

· ·
I love baking up special treats for family and friends and I’m so glad this girl shares my love for time in the kitchen.  She is so independent and really wanted something she could work on herself this year and these mini treats are just perfect if you have a mini baker at your house.  While this was a fun Christmas treat, I really think Valentines Day would also make a perfect time to put these together.
We used this recipe from Cooking Classy and we really liked how the hugs turned out.  I have seen these made with Rolos and regular chocolate kisses as well but these were just prettier.
Carly Jo was able to do all the work unwrapping the kisses and placing them oh so perfectly on the pretzels.
Bonus..if you have a girl who is quite the gabber it gives you a few moments to have a little thinking time because it is hard to unwrap and concentrate while running your mouth.  Ha!

I took care of popping them in the oven after she had them all assembled and she had enough time to watch a little Disney while the chocolate melted.
Easy does it……she was able to gently press the m&m’s onto the slightly melted chocolate and we popped into the freezer to harden.  We tried some with plain chocolate kisses but really liked the way the hugs looked!
I found this fun twist for Valentines day that might be fun to test out from Real Housemoms
This one might need more help from mom but I could not resist sharing!  Hop over to Mom Fabulous and check this yummy treat out.

  1. Love when my kids help in the kitchen. Usually my boys make a huge mess and Olivia is finally getting old enough to actually do the work! Have a great day!

  2. This is a favorite of ours too during the holidays. We used the hugs last Valentine's Day and used the pastel M & M's. They came out so pretty. These things are addicting. I could sit and eat a whole bag of those darn Rolos alone. Thank you, thank you for sharing on my very first linkup party. Thanks too for adding me to your list.

  3. Those look great! Thanks for sharing. I will have to make these for the teachers. I love baking with my mom and gran. When I was growing up my gran would hand write all of the recipes that we made together and write a story about our experience together. It is one of my most treasured items. Have a great weekend!

  4. my boys love to cook and this looks like fun thanks for sharing visiting from review, chews hop have a great weekend
