Loving Lately – Friday Favorites
Three post in one week? This may be the first time in over a year that this has happened so be on the lookout for hell freezing over! I’m trying to get back into the groove for this 10th year of blogging and there were just so many favorites this week I thought I’d round them up here.
Last night we took our Haisley girl to the downtown Christmas lights parade and it was so much fun. Listening to her on the way home talk about the lights and then her elf Cocoa just made my heart melt. The magic of Christmas is just so much bigger through a child’s eyes and we could definitely always learn from them.
My friend Holly had this 2 piece sweater set in an oatmeal color and I loved it so I had to try it for myself. I cannot tell you how many 2 piece sets I’ve ordered trying to find one that is long enough for me. I wasn’t quite sure this one was but my coworkers said it was so I’m going to keep it because, y’all, it is so comfortable! I wore it with these loafers (which are so comfy and on sale by the way) to work but changed into my neutral Nikes for the parade and I loved it so much more with those. I definitely think this is going to see lots of wear over the holidays because it’s cute but also so comfortable and cozy.
I also have been needing a new flat iron and ordered this one after my hairdresser used it on my hair last month. Obsessed as this is how my curls still looked at 4pm! It has adjustable temperature, cuts off on it’s own and has a more round shape which made it easy to use for curling and not just straightening. If someone has a flat iron on their list, I would definitely consider this one.
I know I’ve already shown y’all my updated bathroom but I’m enjoying having a bathtub again so much! It’s been three years since I’ve been able to use the bathtub and I missed it. I’ve been buying all the things and my two favorites have been this sleep soak or bubble bath from Dr. Teals and this body wash. I definitely think these would make great additions to a spa basket for a friend or a stocking stuffer for my girls.
This view! Being gone the entire week of Thanksgiving definitely made it hard to get all my decor up and it’s still a work in progress but the trees are twinkling and the view at night and in the early morning hours makes me so happy. There is just something so peaceful about it.
So much to love amongst the also stressful moments during this season. I also suffer with some grief and sometimes it takes me a hot minute to actually recognize it and sit in it for a moment. Missing my parents is always greater this time of year as they were both always so excited to share Christmas with us. While I can still go see my mom, it’s hard to know she doesn’t really even know it’s Christmas. Her birthday is this coming Monday so I will try to do something special to celebrate and work to see the joy there.
I hope you are all feeling some joy this holiday season!
