Love Notes – Friday Favorites

· ·

Valentines day is closing in and I’ve been pinning ideas for fun puns like crazy! It’s my favorite to create a fun lunch for my kids and Keith on the big day. Maybe I will also get motivated enough to make a heart shaped breakfast!

Today I’m putting one of my valentines and his big league dreams on a plane to head off for spring training. I’m super excited for him but know I will definitely miss his big presence at home. Probably not until I get my house back in order however. Ha! I’d love a quick prayer for health and safety if you have a minute.

Now on to some love for this weeks Friday favorites!

Sweet Gifts

It’s always fun to grab a little something special for a sweet galentine in your life right? I loved some of these easy and inexpensive options. The earrings are a recent find designed by a blogger I’ve come to know through the baseball community if you can believe that. Her husband actually played against Riley in the minor league playoffs last year! You can read her story here and view all the jewelry she has available. Super cute stuff and she is adorable and can also be found on her blog Cirque du SoLayne

Easy Valentines

I ran across a blogpost about sending e-Valentines to kids in a childrens hospital. I decided to check to see if Texas Children’s Hospital did the same and low and behold they do. What an easy way to have your children show some love to others! Definitely check your local children hospitals to see if they have a program available.

Love Notes

Music could definitely be one of my love languages and I love when Keith sends me a text containing a couple of lines from a song. Never mind the one he sends most often is everytime you kiss me it’s like sunshine and whiskey. Ha! I’ve compiled a playlist with some of the songs that always put a smile on my face and joy in my heart for Keith. Spoiler alert they are all country songs but it does include the song we danced to at our wedding!

Show Love

As I mentioned on Monday, Keith and I have very opposite love languages. While I’m all about acts of service and words of affirmation he is all about quality time and physical touch. It’s a balancing act for sure and one that takes being intentional with our lovin’. I recently ran across a new app, the Love Nudge, created by the 5 love language folks. We haven’t finished setting it up yet but it looks to be a fun way for us to keep some sparks alive!

I also receive emails which often provide real life examples of ways to step outside your love zone and love someone in theirs! I loved the suggestion of us cooking a meal together but one only is able to use their left hand while the other only the right. It would truly require us to work together!

Screen Love

This is my first attempt to share something like this with you! I created this wallpaper for an iPhone background which really works best on the lock screen unless you don’t have many apps on the first screen. If you do it is fairly busy! I promise if you don’t judge my mad skills I will work on perfecting! Feel free to save (just right click to download) or not….but no option you must love!

If you missed the blog this week I’ll catch you up!

On Monday I shared my the sweet friend I’ve known the longest as well as a some bits and pieces about relationships in my life!
