Love at First Blush

·

Earlier this month I mentioned the style challenge Kristy at Seven Graces Blog was hosting.  I’ve had so much fun planning  outfits based on the daily prompts and finding new ways to pull together existing pieces in my closet.  It was love at first blush when these pieces matched up.

I’ve already professed my love for the Harper pants along with another spring favorite here, but until this match up I was mostly wearing with deeper colors.  The style is flattering and the fabric is thick enough to hide flaws but also light enough for Texas temps.  I love how wearing with white just softens the look.  Of course these shoes always add a little extra sass to any outfit and while they have been long gone, I did find this adorable pair under $20 with a similar animal print!   I also cannot say enough about this Stella and Dot bag.  I carry it almost every day for work and it will hold my planner, my 15″ Macbook, my slimline clutch for quick trips out to lunch and a few beauty products with no problem.

Through May 30th Stella & Dot has a selection of jewelry on sale up to 50% off!  You can shop the sale pieces here.  Personally I’m crushing on these winding arrow earrings.

I’ve had so much fun with this style challenge!  I’ve shopped less and used existing pieces in my own closet more and in different ways.  Have you ever used prompts to design your daily looks?

  1. I love my blush Harper pants too! I love your black and white bag with this outfit, such a nice pop of color. A style challenge is probably something I need to participate in, sounds like it would be fun and give me some direction when getting dressed in the morning!

    1. It really has given me some ideas and ways to use pieces I have in different ways Kellyann. There are so many fun ones to choose from on Instagram…..but I got overwhelmed trying to fit them all in each week. Picking just one has been fun.

  2. White and blush have never looked better. You know I own those pants so I definitely need to try a similar look. Plus the colors in this outfit match your blog perfectly. Your accessories here are stunning. I particularly love the tote and need one like it.

Your photos lately have come out looking gorgeous Shelly. Who shots them and what camera and lens do you use?

    1. Thank you Ada! This tote has definitely been a fave since arriving

I almost always take my own pictures with a remote unless I’m lucky enough as I was this day to find a friend to snap a few shots. My camera is a Nikon D7200 and typically use a Nikon 50mm or my Tamron 28-75 lens. Photography is definitely something I love learning more about and still have a long way to go!

  3. Oh, what fun! The setting for this photo shoot is fit for the queen that you are, my friend.

I have never been big on pink or blush…I am old, I call it pink. But this spring, I cannot get enough. Have seen so many ways to make it edgy or fun. Like pairing it with your darling shoes. Heading to Old Navy now to check out the similar pair you featured.

  4. Love this outfit! Blush is really a hard color, I think, but wearing it in pants is great! Love those shoes. 🙂
