Katie of Better Off Benedict nominated me for the Liebster Award!  I am so flattered and excited to share.  She was kind enough to also share this write up explaining the award which was helpful. If you love to look at beautiful weddings you have to go check her out!

Here are the questions Katie posed with my answers:

1. Which bloggers inspire you the most?

I am not going to lie, I find some inspiration in all of the blogs I read or I would not be buried in unread blogs on my Bloglovin’ feed!  I just cannot quit adding more there are so many bloggers out there I feel a connection to.  Here are a few that have definitely touched me whether with their faith, their fashion sense or mainly their authenticity.

I seriously could go on and on and on.  I do believe in still maintaining “real” live relationships but I feel when I can draw something from others and then apply it to make me a better wife, mom, friend, follower (of Jesus that is) then it is a win/win.  

2.  Why did you start your blog?

I am late to the blog world and only really discovered it all in November 2013 when someone pointed me in the direction of Pinterest Told Me To.  Through her blog I found Shay’s blog and then Andrea’s and then Erika’s and I just kind of went diving off the cliff into the blog world.  I have a little problem with being an oversharer as it is and I love any chance to try to inspire others so I sat on it from January-July 2014 and finally just decided to go for it and wrote my very first blogpost in August.  

3.  If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?  

Honestly, I really do think I would still choose to live in Texas.  Maybe in the hill country instead of College Station with a weekend house on the coast but I’m a tried and true Texas girl at heart.  

4.  What is your favorite store? 

Nordstrom hands down.  I had never shopped here before the blog world opened my eyes and they have the best customer service I have ever experienced.  I love shopping our local boutiques but I often just do not have the time to get out and shop. 

5.  What are three things you never leave home without?  

Lipstick, phone, a smile

6.  What is your favorite thing to do on the weekends?  

Well right now it is spending time watching my boys play baseball or doing something crafty with Carly Jo.  When things are a little calmer I really like working in the yard, reading and doing projects around the house. 

7.  Who is your hero?  

As much as she makes me crazy out of my mind most of the time, I would have to say my mom.  She was basically a single mom the majority of the year and she managed to keep us fed, clothed and alive and believe me we put her through some tough situations.  She is only 5’2″ but she is definitely one of the strongest women I know and I always knew I could count on her.  

8.  What was your dream job when you were a child?

I so wanted to be an actress, singer or a model….and during one brief period of time when BJ & the Bear (for you peeps in my generation) was on TV I wanted to be a truck driver (??).  

9.  What is your biggest pet peeve?  

I think I have too many of these but I’m working on it.  The biggest is probably people who believe their time is more valuable than mine which most of the time comes into play with some sort of driving situation. 

10.  What is your favorite food?  

I’m a sucker for anything Mexican; chips and salsa, quacamole, tacos of any kind, cheese enchiladas…you get the idea.

  6. I love these posts because you learn so much about the blogger 🙂 So fun, and thank you for the sweet words, Shelly! I'm totally with you… my Bloglovin' feed is constantly overflowing with unread posts because I've found so many awesome bloggers and am so inspired by the ways each one chooses to share their heart or craft. I love that you once wanted to be a truck driver! You are seriously cool, Shelly! (And I mean that)
