Let’s Party – TBB Asks Linkup

It’s the 1st Monday of August and that means another chance for you to join The Blended Blog for TBB Asks.  Who doesn’t love a good party?  Grab the questions and join the linkup with your answers!

ONE | The biggest thing I remember about my birthdays growing up is they were always a big deal.  My Meme always made me a homemade chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and my mom decorated it with those cheesy candy sets from HEB.  It’s hard to pick a favorite but my 4th grade slumber party I remember being a total blast as we stayed up late dancing to the Grease album and the next morning my mom made homemade donuts.

TWO | I love to entertain and have people at my house!  We love hosting holidays or just having friends over for a cookout.  I’m often way too insecure about my house and do not do this often enough and that’s kind of ridiculous.

THREE | As much work as they were, I would definitely say throwing slumber parties for my girls has always been my favorite.  When Jordan was young we lived in a 1200sf duplex and she would have like 12 girls over and it never seemed too small.  Even though there can sometimes be a little drama when you put that many girls together, the memories of them laughing, singing, playing stiff as a board, light as a feather while eating ALL THE FOOD are all worth it!

FOUR | I’d definitely say my perspective has changed on this question over the years.  There was a time I would have felt the need to invite everyone I knew out of fear of leaving someone out and thus being left out in the future.  Now, I would definitely say enjoying a smaller knit group would be my favorite.

FIVE | EAT and visit.  The food is definitely always a highlight but being able to visit with friends is top on my list.

SIX | I’m all about a party full of appetizers.  Give me a meat and cheese tray and some chips and dip and I’m pretty easy to please.  My friend Sarah throws a Christmas party every year and we would rearrange everything to make sure we are there.  She makes a broccoli cheese dip and these sausage pinwheels and we always leave way too full.

SEVEN | Hmm…I haven’t met too many cakes I don’t like but it’s really all about a great buttercream or cream cheese frosting for me!  While I’m typically a chocolate lover, when it comes to cake I’d pick red velvet or just a plain white cake with a great frosting almost every time.  I’m the chick snatching up all the icing clumped up on the knife!

EIGHT | Heck yes, balloons make everything more fun!

NINE | I mean , can you really ever beat singing Happy Birthday?  However, you can bet if ‘You Shook Me All Night Long’ or ‘Can’t Touch This’ is playing I will be on the dance floor!

TEN | I LOVE to dance!  Not sure it’s a treat for everyone else involved but whether it’s some two stepping, line dancing or just some good jam we can swing our hips to I’m in.

This month The Blended Blog has a treat as we add two new faces to our group!   We are so excited to have Kellyann and Vanessa join our tribe and feel sure you will find something to love too!

It’s hard to say how long I’ve been following along with Kellyann but I am positive it’s been quite some time.  We are in the same walk of life with older children and midlife fun.  She’s precious inside and out and shows off her favorite looks.  I’m pretty darn excited because in October I will be meeting this doll in person!  Head on over and check out This Blondes Shopping Bag!

I’m fairly confident I “met” Vanessa almost 4 years ago when I first started blogging!  She’s an Ohio girl with a love for sports, ball caps and camo so I mean what’s not to like!  You can find her sharing her fashion finds, her heart and her family at X-tremely V.

Now head on over to The Blended Blog and linkup your answers to this months TBB Asks!
