Lavender Jeans + TBB Linkup

Colored jeans showed up again several years ago and I really thought they would be a quick passing trend but they have seemed to to have staying power.  I’ve worn plenty of colored jeans in the past but mainly stuck to the bolder, darker shades such as red, black and grey.  When these lavender jeans arrived in my spring Stitch Fix last year I thought no way were they for me.  The fit quickly had me scrambling for outfit combos and changing my mind.

I’m fairly self conscious about my bottom half and definitely try to wear items which minimize; typically dark denim. The key to making these pants work for me was pairing with a fun top to draw the eye up.  Two weeks ago I paired these two together for the first time and it was an instant love fest!

Our office environment is mostly business casual and while I typically would save an outfit like this for a casual Friday look, on a day with zero meetings I can still get away with this look.  By adding a dressier top the colored denim creates a more office friendly look than my standard denim.

Keeping the shoes neutral ties the look together but also elongates the bottom half.  My fave purchase this spring thus far has to be these wedges.  They have been on serious repeat and I know they will probably only make it one season at this pace.  To be such a high wedge they are super comfortable and I’ve even been able to stand at my work desk all day without removing.

And y’all, I still have not settled on a new bag but finally had to retire my beloved black and white stripe tote!  This one is not awful but is definitely not as sturdy.  While I seem to have a constant rotation of clothes orders shipping to and from my house, bags are where I struggle!  So many choices!

Here are a few more ways I’ve worn these jeans and I think it’s obvious, wear the pattern on top but wear a neutral shoe!  You can see how much squattier my legs look when I grabbed the darker grey shoes.  The patterned top is also a huge win over a plain white tee.  Now that I have a formula that works these jeans moved up in my closet!
