Jupiter Florida Mini Vacation

·

If anyone had told me I would travel to Florida three times in a year I would not have believed them but here we are back in Florida! Baseball tends to take us on lots of vacations and this trip found us in Jupiter, Florida for a 5 night stay.

If you have never traveled to the eastern coast of Florida it is a little different feel than the sandy beaches in the gulf but still some incredible views.

Travel Outfit

Of course my travel uniform rarely changes but I loved wearing my wedge sneakers for this trip. They have truly been so comfy! A cozy cardigan, my fave leggings and one new carry on later and we were off.

Jupiter Mural

Carly and I love to find fun murals and we didn’t have to look far. This beauty found us as we were heading to dinner!

Calveras Cantina Jupiter

First stop is always Mexican if we can find it! The tableside guacamole, barbacoa tacos and margs were perfect after a day of travel. Calaveras Cantina definitely hit the spot!

Carlin Park Beach

We stayed in the Carlin Park area in an older VRBO unit but it has been updated and was very clean and in a very well taken care of subdivision. The beach was a short walk across a park. The first day the water was beautiful but very, very rough.

I love this girl but she seems to be growing up before my very eyes every single day! Some days she loves me and talks my head off and some days let’s just say I’m not her favorite and I do my best to stay out of the way!

East Coast Sox

Dillon was playing with a team he has never played with before and it was a great experience. The East Coast Sox motto is to play their best and let God do the rest. This tournament was full of major league scouts and pretty impressive to watch so many kids I know we will see at the next level.

Jupiter Lighthouse

We visited the historic 1860 Jupiter Lighthouse and climbed to the top for the beautiful views. Carly and I made it to the top with zero problems but coming down those stairs made my knees wobble!

Busch Wildlife Sanctuary

We also stopped by the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary where rescued animals are brought to rehabilitate or sometimes live out the rest of their lives. It is free to visit but they do ask for a donation. I will say everyone who worked here was so ready to give us more information about the animals.

We finished the day with a little walk on the beach! I could literally walk the beach for hours on end morning, noon or evening!

Clearwater Kayak

We decided to be adventurous and made this kid join us for a little kayaking adventure with Clear Kayak tour in the Indian River. We rowed for about 2 hours and though the water was a little murkier than normal due to the recent hurricane, we still had some fun.

Burger Fi Jupiter

Of course all that rowing made for some hungry people and we headed back to Harborside to Burger Fi. Why yes, they were as amazing as they look!

Loggerhead Marinelife Center

Another “free with a donation” outing is the Loggerhead Marinelife Center where turtles are rescued and rehabilitated. They had so many babies also due to the recent hurricanes. You can see my videos of those babies and these sweeties in my instastory highlights. I don’t know why I love turtles so much but I totally do!

Baseball

One last day of baseball! Dillon has definitely developed a ton physically this past year and has seen another little jump in velocity which is exciting. I’m excited for the senior high school season and can’t believe we are already here!

Florida Coast Sunrise

Getting up early to watch the sunrise over the water is ALWAYS worth it. I mean it just doesn’t get anymore peaceful or beautiful than this. Always diffrerent and I’m always in awe. It just got better and better as the clock ticked away.

Behind us you can see the moon was still hanging on!

Floriday Coast

We found some of the best shells and this piece of coral was really cool.

Never hesitate to ask a stranger to take your picture. I’m so thankful I did and she captured this memory for me!

Beautiful Jupiter Sunrise
Ford Lauderdale

Jupiter is near West Palm Beach which does have an airport but it is usually much harder to find a decent flight. We opted to fly into Fort Lauderdale which is about an hour away. Of course when I saw this mural was near where we were eating I had to stop for a photo op.

Shooters Fot Lauderdale

I wanted to eat on the water and Shooters did not disappoint. It is on the bay side but boats come by and there is also a water taxi that drops off right at the restaurant. The food was yummy including a lobster roll I didn’t get a good shot of.

Fort Lauderdale Sushi
Fort Lauderdale Ice Cream Stop

Ice cream is a daily ritual on vacation and we didn’t have it as much this trip. We saw this Yo Mama’s ice cream on our way out and had to stop to see the buzz. We give it a thumbs up as we peaced out.

We had a relaxing time and it was nice to not have an agenda for a few days. This was the very last baseball tournament Dillon will play and it was a tad bit bitter sweet but I’m also so excited for what’s to come.

Here is a quick recap of the restaurants we enjoyed while in Jupiter: Calaveras Cantina, Utiki Hut, Hog Snapper, Burger Fi, Hurricane Grill, Lazy Loggerhead Cafe
