July Goals
July friends….July! This marks the halfway point in our year and it is just really hard to believe how much we have already packed into the year. July is always a turning point in our year when the kids activities have all but ended and we are able to be home more and have weekends to do fun things or absolutely nothing. July gives my mind time to catch up and our bodies some time to rest.
Let’s take a look back at how crazy I was in June when I set my number one goal. I should have heard all the snickers from above when I set that one.
Relax
For real, let’s just say some days I’m not thinking so clearly. If you have been following along you know there is no relaxing when baseball playoffs are occurring and your son is a pitcher. None…fail.
Make Memories
Where I failed with number one I definitely made up for with number two! We made some amazing memories in June! Most of these revolved around baseball but we were also able to share some time with friends.
Plan a Vacation
While I really need a real vacation with a beach and a drink in my hand with nothing to do all day, what I got was a trip to Omaha. We could have gone and just watched baseball but I was determined to have some fun along the way. We found so much to do in Omaha and even after going the past two summers there was still lots we had not done. We will see what the remainder of the year holds as I would still like to have my complete family along for some time away together.
Trust in Him
Letting go and letting God is hard for me sometimes. I often just think I could make it if I just had a tiny little peep of where we are headed. I started out the month a basket of crazy but felt totally covered in prayer by those we love and at some point I just let it go. I trusted God’s plan would be perfect and in the end of course it was! It’s not always easy and satan always wants to throw you those curve balls of doubt and put things in your path to make you question Gods love for you.
July Goals!
Celebrate
So much to celebrate this month! Starting with the 4th of July I really want to celebrate all the things I am so thankful for: freedom, family, friends, the little things. The 4th of July is an obvious celebration but I would like to continue that celebration over the month and find other ways to celebrate the little things. Maybe we celebrate a rainy Monday by having a living room picnic and watching a movie. Maybe I celebrate friends and family by organizing an unexpected visit or sending a special surprise. Whatever it is I want to soak up July and remember every day holds with it something to celebrate!
Participate
It is so easy for me to get sucked into my own little world and decline an invitation to even sit down and play a simple board game. I want to participate this month in things I usually pass by. The things I would love to see down around the house can definitely wait until August right? I would like to encourage my Littles and the hubs to also participate in July so I have definitely been giving them a few little chores every day. Participation on their part means more time I can participate with them in fun activities.
Medicate
Yes, medicate! We all need to medicate every once in awhile and find the things that make us feel “better”. I want to continue to learn more about the Bible through the Seamless study group I’m in and that will help heal my mind and my heart. I will definitely have a cocktail on the patio with my love or a couple of date nights to heel any stress that may try and sneak up into our marriage. I will take a nap in the middle of a Saturday if that is what my body is calling for. I want this month to be about recharging.
Alleviate
Alleviate the things I do not need. Spring cleaning did not happen so the usual purge in my kids rooms was passed right over. In order to alleviate the stress I’ve got to alleviate the mess. I hope to be able to have both kids rooms back to an organized state as well as find a better system for my pantry.
What do you think? Have I given myself too lofty of goals for July? I sure hope not. I’m all about writing things down…wait no I’m not. I’m the girl who doesn’t like to write things down with the fear of looking back only to see I did nothing! I’m more of a sit down at the end of the day and make a list of all the things I’ve done kind of girl. Setting these goals each month has helped me to at least have a path!
Have a super day! I’m linking up with a few specific monthly goal link ups as noted below and you can also always hop over to my contact page to see where else I may be linking.
great goals for the month, especially RELAX!
ooops pressed enter too soon! I need to add 'relax' to my list too!
I think we could all use more relaxing than we choose to take Shaunacey! Busy, busy world we live in. Enjoy your 4th!
"In order to alleviate the stress I've got to alleviate the mess." – Amen, sista!
Love all of these goals! I can definitely relate to you about letting go and letting God, but it is so neat to see how powerful prayer truly is! Have a blessed day! 🙂
This is super blog nerdy, but I really like your goals pics. They are awesome.
Hahaha….thank you Katie! I suck at creating stuff but also hate my handwriting so I have to give it a whirl with picmonkey! 🙂
Interesting goals. I kind of like how your goals are not-too-specific.
I really just need some key words to remind myself when I start getting off in the weeds and being a fun waster. 🙂 Have a great 4th!
I really like your goals. I like that they are all attainable, yet broad. I really like the Celebrate and Medicate goals. Have a wonderful July!
Have a super 4th!
Ah, I love the idea of setting monthly goals… it's sort of like taking baby steps, plus, you don't have to wait until January 1 to find a reason to better yourself.
Ohhhh…I definitely need some monthly reminders! Too easy to let this stressful world derail me into being scary mom! 🙂 Have a great 4th!
I think your July goals are doable! Good luck!
Keeping it simple and attainable….that is always my number one goal! Have a great week Kaylee!
