It’s Nice to be Neutral
I have seen so many looks over the years of classic outfits put together with neutral colors but I just wasn’t sure I could pull it off. I see others wearing white jeans in the winter months and I love the look but wasn’t quite sure I could pull it off. I decided the last week of February it was worth a try!
Here is one of the looks I found on Pinterest.
When I found this gingham top at Tara Lynn’s Boutique I knew it had a chance.
Once I received this jacket from the Nordstrom sale I knew they were going to have to meet.
I added my white skinnies, cognac boots and leopard belt and headed out the door feeling so proud of myself for putting this little outfit together!
I swapped the tops out to try one more outfit with a white Pleione top, ruffled cardigan and Toms wedge booties. I was crazier about this when I saw it in the mirror! My jeans are actually not a true white so I think I might try this one again with my actual white jeans.
My skinny jeans are from a local online boutique, Burlap and Pearls and these are actually the silver. You can find all the colors she has available here.
And look at this picture of Elle Macpherson….wow…wish I would have seen this one a little earlier but you can bet I’ve pinned it to try next winter.
Happy Hump Day friends!
Check out where I might be linking up here!
My friend Holly is hosting a link up…waiting on Wednesday! Hop on over and check it out!
Thanks for the shout out, friend! 🙂 And, I LOVED the gingham shirt but the ruffle sweater outfit is so pretty!!! Love how you effortlessly pull these looks together! You've got a gift!
You are sweet…I'm surprised Holden didn't come home and tell you how I was running in and out changing outfits and taking pictures of myself on Sunday…haha
How's the shirt run as far as size? Cute outfit! 🙂
Diane I am typically a medium in most tops but in button downs I almost always take a large just so I'm sure the girls are trying to escape! It fit perfect in a large. I would say if you have a larger bust that you size up but otherwise your regular size would probably work fine. The sleeves were plenty long too which I was happy about.
Girl, you are giving Elle a run for her money! Love the looks 😉 Happy Wednesday!
You are too sweet Jenny…..I wish! She's so beautiful and classy. Have a great day!
Love how you styled our top!!

Thank you Tara Lynn! I am loving it.
Hi Shelly, I am a new follower. Came over from my sweet friend Laura's. Love the neutral outfit your put together. I have a few similar pieces. I am a mom to two girls (25 and 21-had the 25 year old when I was 21). My #2 is at BU, and will be graduating in May. I look forward to following along.
Welcome Lauren! Sounds like we have a few things in common. So…by BU are you referring to Baylor?? Thanks for following along…can't wait to catch up on your story.
I really love those boots! You are so cute!
