Holiday Style + Ageless Style Linkup

·
Today I’m joining with some fabulous ladies to show you a little holiday style! Last year I was part of a blog hop showcasing holiday style and it was so fun.  Here is what I have in mind this year.
Holiday Look
Most of the holiday parties I am invited to are somewhat casual in nature.  This look dresses things up just enough to be festive without being cocktail attire.
Holiday Look

I’ve been wanting a pair of faux leather leggings for quite sometime but finally found a pair at a local boutique for under $30 and pulled the trigger.  Initially I ordered the Spanx faux leather leggings but they did not arrive in time for the party not to mention they were triple the price.   They are pretty fabulous, though, but definitely more expensive.

Bell Sleeve (similar here, here)
I love the look of the bell sleeve with the fitted pants and this fur vest always takes things up a knotch.  I’d love to grab a sexy little pair of sandals such as these Steve Maddens but so far I have not found a pair that do not make my toes look awkward.
Holiday Look
I really hate I was not able to take proper pictures of this dress for today due to the weather because I love it so!  I definitely chose a look that would make me feel classy but a little sexy and I definitely was shooting for something I could be comfortable in.  I feel like this dress nailed it!
Holiday Look
The shoes I have had for years and though they were once uber comfortable when I tried them on with this dress they definitely lacked any padding.  I purchased Foot Petals and they made all the difference!  It was a total win to spend a fraction of the cost of new shoes and be able to wear these shoes I adore for one more season.
Holiday Look
Definitely a fun dress that I know I will have in my closet for years to come.
What are you wearing this holiday season?  I can’t wait to see!   Grab your fashion post and link up!

  1. Isn't it crazy how shoes that were once so comfortable suddenly are not? I am constantly buying insoles of all types to make them comfortable again. I love the faux leather leggings. I've been hesitant to buy a pair because I'm afraid they'll be too hot but I keep seeing them and love how they look on everyone! #ineedtomovetoacoolerclimate

  2. I need faux leather leggings, too! Glad you found a pair at a better price. I've seen the Spanx ones recommended elsewhere but I don't think I can justify the price for how little I would wear them. I love how you wore them with a fur vest and bright top…ready for the party!

  3. So guess what? I can already tell you with all certainty, you will be one of my favorites next Wednesday on TBB!! This red, this vest, those heels….everything I tell ya!!

  4. First of all the tree and all Christmas mantle looks so pretty bright and cozy, do a home tour soon. =) Pretty please!

Secondly I love that first outfit, it is festive and not typical. The lace bodycon dress is so sexy on you. Thanks for the linkup!

  5. Loved that you showcased 2 looks for Holiday Dressing. What a great idea as everyone tends to head to a combination of parties varying from casual to posh! I think your dress looks divine on you & so glad you were able to bring your shoes back to life. It is all about saving pennies where you can. Shooping your closet is key! Two great looks 1 great post!!! xxx Diane

  6. Wow I can see the holiday season is in full swing at your place Shelly. Such cute outfits you show cased – the touch of red is adorable and that little back dress so super cute!

  7. Ahh….thanks Beth! Sometimes I'm not so sure I'm able to pull things off but I'm feeling pretty good in this one. I was SO happy I splurged on the dress too….it really did turn out to be the perfect amount of fancy but still super comfortable.

  8. Both looks are fabulous!

I bought faux leather leggings last year and didn't think I would wear them much, but I have already worn them so many times… Your look with the red, animal print & fur is festive yet still comfortable and just the right amount of dressed up for a not-too-dressy party.

The dress is just beautiful, and I agree that you'll enjoy wearing it for years.
