Gratitude – Who/What I’m Thankful for + Linkup
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, The Blended Blog is hosting a Monday linkup all about being thankful. Each week there is a different prompt and today is all about who and what we are thankful for. While my list could go on and on and on, here are a few of my favorites!
Marriage & This Guy!
Marriage is tough guys but I’m so thankful to have this guy by my side. I am not an easy girl to love day in and day out but he is in it to win it and definitely loves m well.
Motherhood & these crazies
I’m 100% positive God handpicked these 4 just for me. They challenge me, humor me and stress me out in ways I never imagined. Even when they are all picking out my faults and picking fun at my crazy, I know they all love me big too and it just makes my heart swell. This is seriously the last time I have any pictures of all 4 together (last October!!) but hopefully we will fix that very soon!
Family especially my mom and brother
For much of my life these two were the only ones I knew for sure had my back, loved me unconditionally and would be there for me in an instant if I needed them. I share it all with them and they have never turned their back on me!
Friendship and just a few of the ladies who make life more fun!
I mean y’all, any friend who will race armadillos with you is a keeper right? Holly and I met 16 years ago and, while we were not immediate best friends, at some point God put all the stars in line perfectly and made sure we ended up choosing each other! I couldn’t be more proud of the friendship we have created or the way we support each other from kids, to marriage, to faith we back each other up and know this is a safe place!
Kelli and I met 24 years ago as we both started jobs in the same office. I’ll never forget how excited I was when she walked in on her first day. I knew immediately she was going to be my friend! We have seen many struggles together in these 24 years and she has loved me with honesty and shown me how big Jesus can be without ever making me feel like a horrible human. She’s precious is all I can say….just look out if you are “one of those” drivers on the road because she becomes a whole different person!
And this little doll here? Well, Katy was my first real life blog friend who just happened to live right here in town. I had stalked her for years as we used the same photographer so I knew she was adorable but then I met her and realized how real she is and fell in love! I still consider this a “new” friendship as I feel like just when I think I know everything about her I learn something new. She definitely keeps me laughing and helps me decide important things like which Netflix series I should be watching!
My health and a gym family who holds me accountable
I’m so grateful for my health which allows me to continue to enjoy an active lifestyle. I love the way I feel when I am active but I’m not exactly self-motivated in this area so having a gym family who holds me accountable and calls me out when they don’t see me show up for awhile is huge for me.
This space and all of the readers!
I am grateful for this blog space. I’m not 100% sure where this space will continue to take me but if it all stopped today I am so grateful for the friendships it has created. When I share content from my heart if it touches just one other person it is 100% worth it! If I inspire just one person to create a new outfit that makes them feel confident it makes me so happy. With the thousands of amazing bloggers out there, I am so grateful any of you take the time to stop by and visit mine!
Now it’s your turn! Head over to The Blended Blog and linkup who and what you are thankful for!
I’m thankful for our blog friendship too! It’s so cool to feel like there is a “kindred spirit” out there in the cyber world. 🙂
Me too! And I still am amazed at how “close” I felt to you and your family even though we only met once! Hope we get to do it again!
So many wonderful things to be thankful for! All your pictures are just gorgeous too.
Thanks so much! I just feel like my posts are much more alive if I include a picture!! Have a super week!
Amen to all of these- I hear you on these essentials for life.
Right? All I need!
Aw I love all the people that you are thankful for! I may join in this thankful prompt next week!
We would be super excited to have you sweet lady!
Beautiful post. Can’t believe how all of your children have grown over the past year. Your baby girl isn’t a baby any more. XO
I know Leslie…Carly Jo has really been on the grow and changing into a young lady so quickly!

Thank you Shauna….I’m pretty darn proud of them!
I love how you wrote God handpicked your kiddos for you – I feel the same way!
You know Lana…I never thought much about it until I spent lots of time with other kids…even my nieces and nephews…and it became so apparent my kids were perfectly matched to me!
My husband- who came into my life in an unconventional way almost 20 years ago and has had my heart ever since! My 2 amazing adult daughters- they love me big too and pick on me but I can’t imagine NOT being their mama. My besties….who take time to have coffee with me, go to lunch with me, walk long walks with me, golf with me and shop with me! I love my people hard !!! and am very thankful for them!
So blessed!
So many blessings in your beautiful life Shelly, I love how you celebrated all these special people! Seeing all of this just tugs at my heartstrings, thanks for sharing!
xo,
Kellyann
We are both pretty blessed aren’t we girl? I really hope this spring we get to meet!! I keep thinking we need a 40+ meetup 🙂
So much to be thankful for that for sure. I really am thankful for our blogging community among so many other things. BTW…that animal print cami is so cute😉
Friend…I think that cami is probably 6 or 7 years old! I love it so much and just can’t bare to part with it. It came from White House Black Market and I have a cute red jacket I bought at the same time and both are still hanging in my closet!!
So many wonderful things to be thankful for! My list looks a lot like yours!
I just love how you set up this post, it’s so pretty. Love the graphic, so perfect for what you had to say. You have so many blessings in your life. Your family is just adorable.
Thank you Sarah…I think they are keepers!
