Graduation Gift Ideas

We are just a couple of years out from having a graduate in the house and it has been two years since our last graduate so we are definitely still receiving lots of graduation announcements each year. That means I’m always looking for a gift idea or two so I thought I’d pull together some of my favorite graduation gift ideas for him and her!

Clear Purse | If your recipient is headed off to college at a school with fall football, she is likely going to need a clear bag. I grabbed this little purse last fall for myself and received so many compliments. It has a removable strab so they could easily personalize with college colors. It is only $14.99 which makes it easy to gift with some cash or a gift card inside. This has been my gift of choice for all of Carly’s friends who are graduating this year.

Bracelets | Beaded Blondes has custom sets of bracelets for several colleges and they make a fun gift. These sisters are local and I’m so proud of the little business they have created. You can checkout all of their gameday line here.

Travel Jewelry Case | No doubt post grad these kids will be making a few roadtrips to visit friends. This personalized jewelry case comes in a ton of colors and can be personalized several different ways.

A Million Little Ways Book | I think a book makes a great gift that can be given with an inspirational note left in the front cover. This one would be a great read for someone exploring their next steps.

Amazon Gift Card | Just about anything they need for leaving home can be found on Amazon! I love that this one comes in a cute little grad box.

Desk schedule pad + fun pens | Staying organized will help them be successful post grad and I love these fun desk schedule pads that are easy to personalize. Grag a set of fun pens and you have a winning gift!

Hanging Toiletry Bag | I have this one in boring black but it comes in so many fun prints. It has several compartments and keeps things organized and holds a ton of stuff. Loving this fun pattern.

Toolkit | Yes, girls will need a tool here and there and this is a great starter set that doesn’t take up much space.

Personalized Leather Tray | Dillon received a personalized tray when he graduated and loved it!

Duffle | Another one of Dillon’s favorite gifts that I have personally seen him use every single time he comes home is a personalized duffle.

Case Knife | Personalizing something like a pocket knife can be a lifelong gift for a guy. At least I know my guys are somewhat crazy about having one in their pocket at all times.

Collapsible Laundry Hamper | Again, Dillon received this as a gift full of other fun items like towels that he would use at college year one. He brings this home with his dirty laundry sometimes too! It is inexpensive and could be filled with dorm snacks or other fun stuff.

Yeti | You can choose just about any college out there to personalize a Yeti on their website now and who doesn’t love another tumbler!

Tool Kit | And just like the girls the boys could use a small tool kit once out on their own! If nothing else when you are wanting to decorate their new place you will have what you need.

Let’s just keep it real, you can never go wrong with cold hard cash! I don’t know a graduate around who wouldn’t be thrilled to receive money. My kids received so many checks in the mail for graduation gifts and one of my mom tips is don’t let them cash a check without writing the thank you note first! Boys especially this is a tough one. Gift cards to Whataburger, Chick-fil-a and Starbucks also seem to get used with no problem and their parents will thank you!

Hope this gives you a few fun ideas!
