Grace Wins – Blogtember #20
Here we are on day #20 of the Blogtember Challenge and Bailey Jean has prompted us to share what we wish more people knew or believed. Of course I could have quickly gone on a rant about the school drop off line and how I really wish people knew how it worked and believed my time was just as important as theirs. Or maybe I could share how I wish my husband knew all the little things that I do behind the scenes to make sure our daily lives function smoothly. I could have just as easily shared how I wished my kids believed I am the perfect momma. All those would have been easy and rather safe.
Instead, I really would like to share how much I wish people knew God. The majority of the people I know believe in God or some higher power but how many people actually have taken the time to really know him? I spent most of my life believing in God but not really knowing him. In fact, if I’m honest, there are days that go by now when I’m not making the connection as I should.
So many years I suffered heartache based on my own bad choices and sin and belief I was unworthy. Years spent depending on someone else or only myself to be able to heal my pain or achieve my goals. Countless times weighing my mistakes and indiscretions against others sins instead of being accountable. The day I realized grace was free was amazing.
When I actually decide to be faithful enough to set aside quiet time and learn more about the desire he has to see me depend on him fully, I am always amazed. I’m a better wife, a more patient mom, a wiser friend and a better me all the way around. Sin is sin and I still carry my load of it around. The days I spend in the word, however, it just always seems like there is more of a voice in the back of my head urging me to make better choices. We are all broken by sin but to truly know God is to truly believe the only way to move forward in faith is to surrender to him fully. He will guide you, he will speak to you, he will forgive you!!
This is my greatest wish for those I love and for you my friends! Receive his grace and in turn pour grace on those around you.

Such a great testimony Shelly, I hope some lives are touched and brought to our Lord and Savior because of it!
This is lovely! And, I wish the same about the pick up line.
Love, love, love! Grace changes everything.
AMEN!!!!!
I love this… yes! yes! yes. We were meant so much more and as long as we doubt ourselves and treat ourselves unfairly, we will never live up to the potential God has in store for us.
Preach sister! I am so thankful for God's unfailing grace & mercy everyday! Thanks for the reminder. 🙂
Every…..single…..day! Last night I was a complete pill and I'm so thankful my family knows how to give grace so well.
Isn't it true Stephanie? Doubt is definitely the devil working on our weakness. Hope you are having a super week!
Sam…the pick up line…why oh why does it have to be such a struggle. 🙂
That is always my hope Kellyann! If one person is touched this blog has done it's job! 🙂
So true!!!! The last few years of my life I have really learned what it means to have a relationship with the Lord and it has changed me and my world so much. I still have times where I want to do it my way and I am always shown that things go much better when I do it his way. AND I am BLOWN AWAY by his GRACE. The fact that he knows everything about me and all I have done and thought and he still loves me!!!!!
Thank you for your blog!
