Fun Floral Dress for Fall

Recently I took a trip to Nashville and my luggage was packed with several floral dresses perfect for fall. I had no idea when I picked this dress for my outing to Cheekwood Botanical Gardens it would be such a perfect pattern for the scenery. This dress is perfect for all your fall outings or even for family pictures.

As I’ve mentioned in this space, the last two years I’ve definitely added some weight and it’s been a challenge for me learning to dress this new shape. A-line dresses have just seemed to help me feel the most confident and this one is no exception. It works so well for both work and casual weekend outings. I love how easy it layers with a blazer or cardigan too and I really think pairing it with booties or tall boots once the weather cools off will be perfect.

One of my favorite things to take a long on vacation is a fun hat. Who has time to wash and style your hair on vacation?!! I’m all for low maintenance when I’m getting ready each day to allow me more time for the fun stuff.

My closet right now is missing shoes! I have so many favorites that I have loved well like these wedges but they are definitely showing lots of wear. For some reason I’m having a really hard time finding shoes that I’m drawn too this season. Is it just me? I’m on the hunt for both casual shoes and some shoes to wear with work outfits.

Mastering the layered look with necklaces has not felt natural to me but I found this gold locket my mom was no longer wearing and decided to wear it. It has become such a favorite and is so special as it holds a picture of my brother and I when we were little. The Kendra Scott piece my daughter-in-law gave me on the day she and Riley were getting married and it has been perfect for layering.

And can I just tell you how much having a few pictures of yourself looking lovely can work to improve your mood? I so enjoyed this day and these pictures remind me of the calm and peaceful feeling I had wondering through the gardens. What are some things you are doing this fall that are bringing you joy?
