Friday Favorites

·
Long days and late nights…..I love summer!  Here are a few of my favorites from this week.

{ONE}

I was suppose to have a meeting after work on Thursday and when it was cancelled I knew immediately hot dogs were on the menu!  As we continue to have a “not so bummer summer” finding  joy in the everyday is definitely one of the things we are aiming for.  What better way to spend a summer evening than to grill hot dogs, dine outside and eat potato chips your mom doesn’t typically purchase!  I seriously did not restrict myself and was miserable by bedtime but it was totally worth it.  We grilled regular hot dogs, bratwurst and some other fancy sausage ans served with grilled onions and peppers for the adults.  My very favorite hot dog topping is mustard relish so I totally stopped and grabbed some tonight.  I haven’t eaten a hot dog in two summers and it was delish!

{TWO}

Love, love, love a fresh haircut!  Seeing this sweet face after a good haircut is definitely a favorite.  He is maturing before my eyes and I am seeing his daddy more and more every day.

{THREE}

This girl has been gone to Nana’s for a week!  It is way too quiet when she is gone so I’m so happy to have her home.
So thankful to have my mom around to still enjoy time with my kids and be willing to make the trip to pick them up and drop them off!

{FOUR}

The Littles most anticipated time all year….camp drop off!  Sunday we will take the kids to camp at T Bar M.  This year Carly Jo will be in New Braunfels but Dillon will actually ride a bus over to the camp at Lake Travis.  I feel so blessed we are able to send these kids to camp for a week away from the “real” world and all the distractions.  They are surrounded by counselors unashamed about sharing the word of God and they are just such great role models.  I’m sure I will be scrambling to get everything organized and packed but come Sunday morning we will be heading out.

{FIVE}

I wrote about this cute Escapada top in my What I Wore Wednesday post and after tagging Escapada Living on Instagram they actually pulled some pictures, added to their Facebook page and gave me a shout out!  This was not that big of a deal but it totally made my day.
I would also like to say thank you to Cathy at Three Kids and a Fish for featuring my Thoughts for Thursday Post – No Judgement on her Making Memories Monday link up.
Also a thank you to Jordan at Jordan’s Onion for featuring Pantry Organization:  Before & After on her Thank Goodness it’s Thursday Link up.
The blog world is so big and there are so many great people sharing some good stuff…..be sure to spread some love when you have a chance!  Katy & I would love you to join our month long link up Queen Bees and give a shout out to a woman who inspires you!  Find out all the details here or link up a post here.
Have a super weekend!

    1. Kim you are so sweet…thank you!! And oh my goodness….tell your hubby I'm sorry. 🙂 kind of….I've been calling Keith before he gets home every day reminding him I'm "Christmas shopping" and not keeping everything. He just shakes his head.

  3. I totally skipped out on National Hot Dog day! lol! I swear Xavier could eat them for every meal of the day! So he had chicken nuggets instead 🙂
    Is it crazy that I didn't know anyone growing up that went to camp? In my current town kids do, and my husband and his friends did as well. Strange how different it was just an hour and a half north of here.
    Have a great weekend Shelly!

  4. You look so awesome in that tank and white! Gorgeous together. Spending time with grandparents is the BEST, I'm glad your daughter had a great time!! Wahoo for the weekend!

    1. Thanks Molly! I'm so glad my kids have all grown up spending time with their grandparents. It's definitely a special relationship.
