Friday Favorites – Summer Loving
The weekend came early for me and we are already living the hotel life in San Antonio! If you have never visited, San Antonio offers so much to do and Mexican food on every corner! #priorities We really love coming to stay at the JW Marriott but this weekend is all about baseball so we are shacking up at Hyatt Place with an indoor pool. I don’t know why that cracks me up but, hello, we are in Texas why are all the hotels adding indoor pools lately?!
Anyway, it’s Friday and time to share!
One
Our little Challenge to Change Facebook group is hitting day 4 today! I cannot tell you how motivating it has been to me to see what everyone is eating. Having others joining you on a quest for a healthier lifestyle really does make you think twice before giving into those donuts in the break room or that extra glass of wine with dinner. In just 4 days I’m already feeling less bloated and I have not been hungry at all. You can still have food that is delicious and still really clean. Don’t believe it? Here are just a few of the meals a few in the group had this week.
I can’t wait to try out this buffalo chicken recipe and the pina colada coleslaw.
Two
It has been two years since I’ve purchased a new swimsuit and, while it’s not my favorite thing to shop for, I do like to find one I feel confident in. One piece suits have definitely been where it’s at for me lately and I am loving these options. I actually have #3 in a coral color which I was wearing on our lazy river weekend and the black is currently on sale. I’m hoping to make it by Nordstrom this weekend to try a few.
Three
The sales a few weeks back were so good to me! Granted I’m returning a ton but I’m loving the items I’m keeping!
Honestly at my age I really do love the cover up much more than the suit! My new favorite cover up was less than $15 the day I snagged it! I absolutely love it and may actually finally toss one I’ve been holding onto for 10 years!
This tank really speaks for itself and I was happy to find it has a slightly loose fit. The last thing I needed was a new pair of shorts but I couldn’t resist when I saw these came in 5″and they did not disappoint. The biggest surprise out of these three was this adorable skirt. This is the first I’ve purchased in this style and I paired with the flamingo tank for work on Thursday and loved it! Did I mention it has pockets?!
I shared this off the shoulder floral earlier this week as part of the Ageless Style Linkup and it is also another favorite. This print is sold out but it does come in another print as well as solid black.
As I mentioned on Wednesday, burning the midnight oil has me all kinds of tired and hammering this out is all I could muster. Hoping next week I will be rested and ready to tackle the blogging world head on again.
Wishing you all the best of weekends!

I loved that striped skirt and tank top…super cute. That is so funny about the indoor pools! Considering that we can swim outside about 8 months out of the year, I’m guessing maybe people think it’s too hot to swim? I had enough of indoor pools while we were in England…they’re not very appealing! Hope y’all have a fun weekend in San Antonio!
Thanks Tanya! I know right? I just don’t get the indoor pools…ick. It is just so hot and humid in those enclosed areas.
I’ve been admiring your cover-up and off the shoulder top all week! Great looks on you!
Thank you Cathy! Hope you have a sweet weekend!
I placed an order with JCF this week and ordered a peplum top in the same print as the shorts you got. It’s such a pretty print, I cannot wait for my order to come! I bet the tank and skirt were adorable together! Have a wonderful weekend!

I ordered the top too Kellyann! 🙂 I haven’t tried it yet but we shall see. I may have to keep both. JSF is hit or miss for me with tops but I’m loving my flamingos!
Have a great weekend girl. And I also love the cover up way more than the bathing suit. Lol
I saw someone else wearing the bikini and it was precious…wasn’t so crazy about the other styles. Hope you had a super weekend!
I absolutely love that seersucker skirt! So classic! And I’m not the biggest fan of swimsuit shopping either, but love the choices you picked! I love the print of #4!
MeetTheShaneyfelts
Isn’t it a fun skirt? I can’t wait to see what other tops I might be able to mix with it. I went to a “real” Nordstrom this weekend and was really bummed with the selection of suits they had in the store. I may have to order a couple to try.
Those meals look delicious! You got this girl! I am still so in love with that palm cover up! Wishing you a sweet and restful weekend!
Whew….the weekend was H-A-R-D and I did not eat perfect but where’s the fun in perfect anyway. Having a little accountability group has made me think twice and not over indulge so I’m feeling a lot less puffy. 🙂 Hope you had a super weekend!
I love that cover up and that seer sucker skirt is AMAZING! I love the length. I hope you have a great weekend enjoying baseball and hotel living!
Jenna this is the first time I’ve tried a skirt this length and I’m super excited it worked. I definitely think I’ll be pairing it with all sorts of tops this summer.
All that food has me so hungry!!!
It has been really fun getting some new ideas for clean meals!
I love that coverup and all of those suits are amazing! Jess at Just Jess
Thanks Jess! I went to a “real” Nordstrom this weekend and was really disappointed in the swimwear selection.
I am looking forward to recreating some of the yummy meals that have been posted this week. I was really bad today – I had a bagel 🙁 I needed a cheat meal. I love that cover up. Hope you guys have a great weekend.
LMAO….it’s sad when we have gotten to the point where a bagel is considered a cheat meal! I am pretty confident I will not make it all weekend without an adult beverage but we will see.
I loved your coral suit. It looked great on you. I’m a tankini girl myself. I like the convenience for potty breaks and that it hangs loose on the tummy.😉
I use to love tankinis until my love handles got too rolly and the tops don’t stay put. 🙂
You already know from instagram that I ADORE that palm coverup and that off the shoulder top – gorgeous!!
Those meals look delish!
I seriously just want an excuse to go to the pool so I can wear it Shaunacey!
I loved your tank and skirt outfit the other day! Super fun! Enjoy your trip to San Antonio- I can’t wait to take the kids there and ride along the river.
I’m hoping we might make it to the River Walk this time. I’ve never taken these two littles down to ride the boat.
I love love love that coverup and I see we both have been shopping at Old Navy recently! 🙂 Those meals look tasty. What’s under the avocados?
ON has been hitting it out of the park haven’t they? That was my friend Tori’s meal and it was fish served on jicama tortillas. I just found them recently and they are an amazing substitute for tortillas.
I need to start watching my food intake again. I got to the point of fitting into my shorts and called it good, lol. If I am not careful it won’t stay that way. I adore that skirt. SO stinking cute.
I need to watch mine for like 6 months friend….every time the clothes get a little comfortable I let myself slip right back. You look amazing though Beth! Enjoy every second that you can of being able to indulge a little.
I definitely thought that palm cover-up was a romper, so perhaps you can get away with wearing as a regular outfit, haha! It’s so cute!
Jess I definitely think I could wear it with white jeans as a tunic! It’s such a fun print it would be a shame just to waste it at the pool. Hope you had a super weekend!
Every single one of those meals looks amazing. I love that off the shoulder top – you look amazing in it!
Thanks you Nicole….I seriously may have gone a little over board now with the OTS tops. 🙂
Honey pie – you and the off shoulder floral top with the white pants – shut up, slap a mama, you are too damn hot.
Thanks lady….good lighting is EVERYTHING!!
