Friday Favorites – Random Roundup

·

Happy Cinco de Mayo!  Don’t you just love when something fun falls on a Friday?  Keith says it is a “made up” holiday (#funwaster) but I love any chance to celebrate so we will be joining some friends for nachos and margaritas!   Last Friday I shared some Cinco de Mayo favorites I was loving and you can bet the margarita recipe will be making an appearance.  Every one in town must be planning to make Sopapilla Cheesecake as I could not find crescent rolls or cream cheese at the grocery store!

Today I’m sharing a bit of a random roundup of favorites from the week!

One

Money Saving Mom shared a few adorable gift sets from Dayspring priced at $10!  I couldn’t resist the price of this adorable set. My order arrived this week and it is so darn cute.  If you are looking for some cute gifts for graduation, moms day or any occasion for women of varying ages, I definitely think this is a winner.

Two

It’s been awhile since I have participated in a style challenge but when Kristy at Seven Graces Blog posted about her #MayMomStyle challenge I was definitely on board.  May is a busy, busy month for us and having a daily prompt to give me a chance to view my closet a little differently is a huge plus.  It’s not too late for you to join the fun!

Three

On Tuesday I joined 9 other ladies to co-host the Ageless Style Link-up.  Our theme this month was Flower Power so you should definitely hop over and see all the lovely ladies who linked up to share their looks!

I love a great arm stack and this week I nailed it with this layered look.  All are from Stella & Dot except for the far left which I picked up 60% off at the Kate Spade outlet.  Through May 15th when you purchase two bracelets you receive 50% off a third at Stella and Dot.  It’s the perfect time to perfect your stack or find something special for mom!

Five

This time of year all the pollen can make for some serious allergies.  About 6 months ago I started taking a teaspoon a day of local raw honey after a friend swore by it.  I really do think it has helped and I have not had any serious allergies this spring.  The health benefits of raw honey are many and you can read more about it in this article here.

So that’s all my random ramble for today!  Hope you all have a super day with lots of tacos!

  1. Heading up to Stanford, again, with my parents so that my dad can get his treatment plan! I don’t foresee ANY tacos or margaritas in my future for today but if you could just maybe say a small prayer that we travel safely up and back…….I would appreciate it! Friday Bay area traffic has me like…….EEEEEEEEK!

      1. Thank you. Good news: he can get his treatments in his town….Bad News: its a low dose of chemo given for 5 consecutive days EVERY MONTH for rest of his life. Either by a shot or intravenously ……So that was a tad disheartening but my dad is a positive guy. He just wants to get on with it!

  2. Love raw honey– can’t believe it helps with allergies!! And yes to those cute gifts. Shelly your style is awesome> love those looks

  3. Robert was just telling me that I need to buy local honey. My allergies have killed me this year- working on week 2 of ridiculousness. I love the style challenge! I may join in for a few days. Hope your weekend is full of tacos and queso!

    1. Allie for real…go find you some local honey and stick with it! And YES…join the style challenge. It has really made me excited about shopping my own closet. Hope you are having a super weekend..and for the record….FULL of tacos and queso over here.

      1. My HEB has a whole section of local honey, so I grabbed some yesterday and started taking my daily dose! It’s definitely different than processed honey!

  4. Honey is my jam – literally! Those bracelets – please! You are adorbs as always. Happy cinco de mayo and for your husband – happy friday! LOL 🙂

  5. Well thanks to you I hosted a lovely Cinco de Mayo dinner for our friends. I made the margaritas, the tex mex queso (to die for), and the sopapilla cheesecake all from your post last Friday. In addition to that we had queso baked tacos, and chicken chili, chips and salsa and lots of guac. It may be a made up holiday, like Valentine’s Day but it sure is fun and at least there’s no crazy gift giving just lots of fun! I actually made the sopapilla cheesecake twice this week, it was so easy and good. Once for work and then for our get together. I am so thrilled you shared that last week! Thanks so much!!!!

    1. girl….I am SOOOO jealous about the cheesecake! Can you believe when I went to buy the supplies for our party there were no crescent rolls or cream cheese remaining at our HEB?!! We ended up picking up sopapillas from a local mexican restaurant and that had to do. I totally ate my weight in nachos, queso, quac and drank just the right number of margaritas! Sounds like your threw a party I would have been so excited to attend!!

  6. Stella & Dot has some great bracelets, the spiked cluster one I have and it’s one of my fave bracelets to wear! We tried to go to a couple of Mexican restaurants last night and they were all packed… so we had margaritas at Outback! lol!

  7. Russ and Keith sound very similar in so many ways. However he still drank his fair share of Coronas 😂. Love those bracelets. Have a great Sunday.
