Friday Favorites – Random Raves

·

Whew…this week held lots of meetings and not enough time at my desk which has left me feeling a little wound up.  Here’s to a focused Friday!  Now on to a few random raves for my Friday favorites!

{Valentines Day}

I shared the little touches added around my house on Monday so Love is in the Air but Valentines Day really snuck up on me this year.  I usually love leaving my kidos sweet little treats each day leading up to Vday but I did not do one thing this year….boo.  Guess I better find a way to show some extra love on Sunday.

{Music}

So I’m not really much of a news person and rarely if ever tune in but I love some morning radio talk on the way to work each day.  I’m not sure how long it has been carried in my area but this past fall I finally found the Bobby Bones morning show and I absolutely love listening!  They are so fun and have such a great chemistry.  They interview some of my favorite artists and it’s wear I first found out about Cole Swindels song about his dad.  Well…this morning they played this song from Darius Rucker and let’s just say I was a little choked up.  I adore him anyway and have ever since the Hootie days but there is just something special about a man who isn’t afraid to show a little emotion.  Take a listen….I think you will love this song!  I did have some trouble streaming it so if you do be sure to just take a peak at the lyrics here.

{Style Challenges}

I’ve had so much fun putting together outfits since following along with multiple challenges (all tracked in a spreadsheet :)).  I’ve definitely seen my closet in a totally new and fresh way and have really been working on pulling out items for good that just don’t make me feel my best.  Casey from Little Bit of Cheer hosts a weekly linkup on her blog but she along with Carrie & Whitney are hosting Create 28 on IG.  Even if you do not participate there is so much you can learn from following along!   As if that didn’t make her fun enough….I opened the link to her blog on Monday and found my own mug as the feature!  Always such a special feeling so thank you Casey!!   Follow along on instagram to see what I’m pulling together every day.

{Meal Prep}

The past few weekends have been just a tad busy and I haven fallen way behind on my meal prep and planning dinners.  A friend of mine posted a picture of her meal prep for the week and I quickly fell in love with the look of them.  The Fitpacker is a great size, microwavable I just love the black base and I love they are microwaveable too.  I can’t wait to put together some meals this weekend!

{Sales}

Lots of sales going on this weekend for presidents day and I have been evaluating where my closet is lacking for spring.  Pants and skirts for work are definitely on my list.  Here are a few things that caught my eye at Loft.  I am hoping to pull together a sale saturday post with all my favorite finds from all my favorite places to shop.

We finished up basketball last night just in time for a 7 on 7 tourney this weekend!  February is shaping up to be full of activities.  Wishing you all an amazing weekend!  Get out there and love on somebody.

  1. Happy Valentine's Day weekend sweet pea! Your outfits are so adorable. I hope your Valentines weekend is full of lots of love, family snuggles and smiles and your pretty face!!

  2. Not my outfits…but all the daily challenge combos for the month! Gives me lots of ideas for how to use what I have. I am contemplating printing one of those cute little Instagram books off my outfit # so I can refer back to it haha. Have a super weekend!

  3. The create 28 style challenge seems wonderful, although I've never participated as I'm in opposite seasons being down here in Australia. I do love style challenges though, like you said it's nice to look at your wardrobe differently!

    Hope you have a great weekend and a lovely Valentine's day 🙂

  4. Well there you go Mica….you should create a style challenge for all you Aussie girls!! a lot of the ones I've had fun with are literally just prescriptions for a good combo…colors together, patterns together, etc. It has helped me so much. I'm also just trying to toss anything I wear that doesn't make me feel 100% adorable. 🙂

  5. I love browsing the style challenges. They are also so fun and full of inspiration!! I'm with you on Valentine's Day sneaking up this year. By the time this weekend rolled around, I wasn't feeling that festive or motivated! HA! And that Loft striped skirt is ADORABLE! I need that! Happy Valentine's Day!

  6. i really have been trying to toss the things that go unworn and only keep those items that are my favorites and are worn often. Bottoms seem to be wear I am lacking for work outfits so I've really been checking out the skirts and crop pants for spring. Have a super week!

  7. There are a few great Australian style challenges, I just haven't been able to participate much in them with my limited wardrobe haha!

    I agree you get a reason to wear more of your wardrobe and find and get rid of things that no longer work for you when you do a style challenge 🙂
