Friday Favorites – Random Finds

·

Happy Friday!  We have settled into our back to school routine and have been totally enjoying the cooler, drier temperatures around here.  Sadly either the back to school germs or allergies are to blame for most of our household feeling a little poopy this week.  Hoping we are all 100% for the weekend.

Today I’m sharing a few favorites over at The Blended Blog and also a few random favorites here along with some sales you don’t want to miss!

Perfect Transitional Dress

On Wednesday I talked a little about transitional pieces for fall and at that time this little piece had not arrived.  I wore this dress yesterday and received multiple compliments.  It is the perfect weight to wear alone or top with a cardigan, jacket, etc and I can totally see it with tall boots.  Here’s the thing, I’m 5’7″ and it was totally work appropriate hitting just above the knee so this chick has got to be like 6′ tall or something!  If you are worried about the length I say give this one a chance because it comes in multiple colors and for under $50 it will definitely create a multitude of outfits from your closet.  I have already ordered in the wine color!

Pintuck Comforter

Target has 30% off all bedding through today and I’m doing my usual crazy search for the perfect comforter.  I’ve shared before my love for Target sheets but right now I need to update the bedding in our “guest” bedroom which Riley normally occupies (and still claims as his) when he is home.  I don’t want it to be too feminine but also want it to look nice enough for guests.  I’m really loving this one and think the reviews are decent. Am I the only one tired of duvet covers?  A good old time comforter is on my list!

Slip on Sneakers

Tif at Bright on a Budget was wearing these shoes recently so I popped over to check them out and they are currently 20% off as well!  They were in stock at the Target in town so I ordered a pair for me and Carly Jo and will see what we think.  The reviews are good and they also come in a pale pink.

I love this quote!  How many times have I purchased some new fashion trend only to realize it was not only not my style but not even something I really wanted to be my style!  Appreciate the fashion we have to choose from but in the end define your own style and you will always look pulled together.

  1. I have been seeing that dress all over and just love it. I think you have convinced me that I NEED it! 🙂 Love that comforter, too. I used to have a duvet and I have to say, I am with you on liking comforters better. To me, they just lay nicer without all that hassle!

  2. Nope, I’m with ya sista, love comforters. I am on the hunt for one more set for the new house and love the one you showed and went over but they’re out of the size I need darn it! That crepe dress is so cute! Happy weekend gorgeous lady!

  3. That is the BEST QUOTE EVER!!! Love it! (and stealing it!) I love a good old fashioned comforter and that one is really pretty. Not too feminine but has style. Hope everyone feels better quickly over there. Happy Friday!! XOXO

    1. Girl….I have spent all day looking at comforters online!! Ugh…why do I have so much trouble making a decision. I didn’t pull the trigger in time and missed out on this one in the size I needed. Seriously…I just need someone else to pick it all out and come set it all up!

  4. I love that comforter. I am in the process of trying to find one for our bed; ours is starting to pull apart at the seams from so many washings.

  5. I love that comforter. I’m kind of the same way about duvet covers. In Europe, they use them and don’t use a top sheet. I like that system, but it’s just too hot for that here. I almost always spend part of the night just under the sheet. It seems like a hassle to take the comforter out of the cover to wash it. Right now we’re using a down blanket which seems just the right weight for Texas.

    1. Totally agree that weight is perfect…..but I love the way a bulkier comforter looks when the bed is made. Keith is already irritated with the “great pillow migration” every night so I can’t imagine what he would say if I told him we had to take off the big comforter daily. Haha
