Friday Favorites - Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo is a week away and I feel a taco binge coming!  Who am I kidding?  We have had tacos 3 out of 5 nights this week! I have been all about the pineapples this spring but now all the cute little cactus decor is popping up and I have to admit I’m a little taken.  I thought I’d share a few of my favorite things I’m thinking would make for a fun Cinco de Mayo!

Cactus Mat

The cactus welcome mat is on sale for $10.49 right now and would make the perfect first stop for the friends you might invite over for tacos!

Last year I grabbed a Te Amo Tacos shirt  and more than likely it will make an appearance again this year.  I do love this little cactus tank from Target too!  How cute would either be with a pair of floral sandals like the ones here (splurge) or here (save).

 Baked Tacos|Tex Mex Queso|Guacamole|Margaritas & More

Of course the food is always the best part of Cinco de Mayo!  No need to make it fancy, serve some baked tacos or host a taco bar.  All you need to add are your favorite Mexican inspired dips like queso and guac and you have a win!  Of course don’t forget the margaritas!  This recipe looks super easy.  I’m kind of a sucker for sopapilla cheesecake but would definitely have to have friends help me finish it off!

Nothing will make your party more festive than music!  Here is a fun playlist to get your guests in the mood.

If you love the idea of having friends over but are self conscious about your hostess skills, I say there is no better time than Cinco de Mayo!  It is easy to pull together a taco bar and drinks and no one expects a fancy meal.

Just home from the grocery store and picked up skinny Margarita mix without thinking about tomorrow being Cinco de Mayo. So glad I did! Will mix up some of these delicious baked tacos for dinner to go with our drinks.

Haven’t seen that cactus tank at our Target yet but will be scouting it out online.

    Gracias y adios, amiga mia!
