Friday Favorites

·
Happy April Fools Day!  Here are a few Aprils Fools interesting facts for you.  Pinky posted some fun April Fools ideas a while back and I can hardly wait for the littles reaction!!!
Most of you regulars already know I work for Texas A&M and I work on the annual budget.   My coworker and I have been discussing how quickly time passes and we decided the fact that we are almost always working in a future fiscal year has something to do with it.  So while the rest of you are just now getting use to writing 2016, I’m having to remember I’m actually in 2016.  Anyway, I feel like we were just here for Friday favorites like yesterday so let’s not waste any more time!
Favorite Post||Erika at Little Bit of Everything shared a little activity in her Thoughts for Thursday to address ugly talk between children.  I think we could all learn a little lesson from this activity on easy words flow but how difficult it is to clean up the mess afterwards when they are hurtful.
Favorite new song||On my way home from work on Wednesday this catchy little song came on and I was sucked in.    The video is a little risque but the song is so fun.  I immediately texted our cardio dance instructor to let her know it was a must for her routine!
Favorite Workout||Cycling is still new to me but it is quickly becoming my favorite!  I also tried a step class at the new gym this week and managed to log 5 workouts.  Summer is near folks!

Favorite View||On Tuesday I was invited to eat at the University Club on campus as part of a thank you for serving on a committee.  This is one of my favorite places to eat but not necessarily because of the food.  This view of campus is one of my favorites!  Part of my job involves the funding of capital projects and large deferred maintenance projects so it is always fun to have a birds eye view.

Favorite Guest Post (not just because it was the only haha)||Thanks to Karli from September Farm for having me as a guest this week.   If you missed my Disney Dos and Don’ts post you can catch that here for the Don’ts which will then provide the link to the Do’s.  If you saw my Spring Sweet 16 you know I love olive skin too.  I’m giving away a Rodan & Fields Sunless Tanner so be sure to make it all the way to the guest post here to register.
Disney Vacation
If you saw my What’s Up Wednesday post you know I was excited to find out where Riley would be assigned for his first real minor league season.  We found out today he will be starting in Lancaster, California.  Sooooo far away from family but I know he is ready to get to work.  He will be heading from Florida to Cali on Sunday so I would love some prayers for a safe trip.  Can’t wait to see him in action.
Speaking of baseball, Dillon will be playing in Houston this weekend and since the location is about halfway between our home and my hometown I’m heading down tomorrow to visit with my mom and my Mamaw.  Bonus….my niece is playing softball tomorrow night and I’m so hoping to make it in time to catch her game!
Have a special lady in your life you would like to give a shout out to?  Join Katy and I Tuesday as we honor a special woman during our Queen Bee linkup!

  1. Love your lunch view! And my sister loves spinning! She actually bought a spin bike for her home and subscribes to Peloton–you should check it out! Coming over from Hill Collection!

  2. I saw that same April Fool's joke, but it was with a box of Krispie Kremes instead. Too funny! I love that song by Miss Trainor, and I know all too well about working multiple years at one time. When I've got audit and tax going on at the same time, I'm working THREE years! Ugh! The joys of being an accountant! Have fun this weekend!

  3. OH my gosh, the veggies in the donut box is hilarious! I'm not really into April Fools' stuff I could see myself doing that! LOL. And yes, that Megain Trainor song is constantly stuck in my head (along with Rihanna/Drake "Work").

  4. Look at you spinning on the cycle all sweaty and still absolutely gorgeous as can be! Love your view, love your favorites and I hope your weekend is as lovely as sweet as you are!

  5. I love that donut prank. I don't think my kids would think it was so great, though. I'm glad you get to have some family time this weekend. I hope you get to soak in a few moments with Dillon, too. California is far away. Praying for safe travels for him, as well as your Mommy heart.

  6. Gal you're looking great! You're motivating me to step up my workout game! Hope you have a fabulous weekending visiting family and watching baseball!

  7. I haven't heard that Megan Trainor song yet, but I'm already hooked! Thanks for sharing, have a great weekend!

  8. I need to check out your Disney post! I didn't realize you worked at Texas A & M. My cousin went to college there! Cycling is on my list of things to try. I'm glad to hear you like it so much! Enjoy your weekend!

  9. I LOVE Disney! I have a Disney series coming up as well on a couple of the resorts and theme parks and what not to miss on your vacation! I think after working for Disney, I have some insight to give. I hope your Disney vacay went well! Also, I've been wanting to try spinning! I know tons of gals who love it! Your job sounds so interesting to me. How cool that view is!!

    Have a great weekend 🙂

  10. I love doing spin class but I don't do it nearly as often as I should. I am so burned out with the gym lately. Thinking of starting workouts with a trainer and lifting weights. Ok, welcome to California Mr Riley!! Lancaster is south of me but is he Single A ?? Maybe he will be playing here in Visalia against our Rawhide? We have season tickets and I would definitely go and try to get a picture with your sweet boy!! Let me know what you know and I will check it out!

  11. I probably would have never jumped in but my trainer who teaches my bootcamp and power training is now teaching cycle as well. It has been so much fun and burns a ton of calories. I miss running but I just cannot keep my plantars at bay running regularly. Thinking I may try a 1/2 again in December….we will see.

  12. Kim the only way I can do it is with friends! I have a group of girls that make it all fun and I love my trainer who teaches the cycle class too. If I didn't look forward to seeing them I'm not sure I could force myself to go. And yes….Lancaster is Single A and Visalia is on the schedule! So fun.

  13. Umm….an insiders view?!! Yes please! How fun! I have always heard so many amazing things about the Disney organization from a leadership perspective. Cycling burns a ton of calories and it goes by quickly to me….both a plus in my book. Have a super weekend Rachel!

  14. Thanks Astleigh…..when the weather warms up you will love getting out and being active with that precious girl. You should look around to see if there are any mom and me classes. We had a stroller strides class here that incorporated a bootcamp type workout with moms bringing the babies in their strollers!

  15. Thanks for the prayers Emily! I feel like God has slowly prepared us over the past 4 years to be ready for this. I hate not being able to see him play more often but thankfully the games will be on the internet. Have a super weekend!

  16. There are so many great workouts you can find online these days. Sadly I totally suck at being accountable enough to work out on my own and have to have a group of friends to talk me into getting my buns to the gym. Have a super weekend Sarah!

  17. I do have my gym ladies and lately we've all been hit or miss! And one of my gym ladies teaches spin, so that helps!! Oh how fun! I'll look on the schedule and see when Riley is going to be here. You better tell him that I might be looking for him so he doesn't think some crazy old lady is being a cougar!! Rawr!!!!! Lol

  18. Bahahaha….that made me laugh out loud! Thankfully Riley is accustomed to crazy with me for his mom. My favorite thing about my friend Kelli working out with me is we motivate each other but also give each other lots of grace when life gets in the way.

  19. I looked and they play away at Lancaster in May but here in Visalia June 9-12 so I have already told Tony to save one of the games for us! I will look forward to looking for him! YAY!!
