Friday Favorites

Happy Friday friends!  This week has been super productive and gone by so quickly after the kids were out of school Monday and Tuesday and I decided to join them.  The key was making a realistic to do list for once.  I don’t know about y’all but I am constantly guilty of miscalculating how much time it takes to get crap done and next thing I know I’m frustrated and running around like a mad woman.  This week was so much different and so good!

Before I get going with my favorites, I would really like to give a shoutout to the sweet Tennessee fan last Saturday who stopped as I was tailgating and let me know she reads my blog.  I’m incredibly humbled and I think I was in shock so I’m so incredibly embarrassed to say I sucked at remembering her name.  If you are reading this right now….please comment and let me know your name (AGAIN) and I would love for you to share the picture with me.  🙂

Here are a few of my favorites this week!

One of the things I’ve started in October is intentionally logging in my bullet journal.  I tried a bullet journal last spring but really didn’t get the hang of it.  I decided to spend some additional time looking at how other’s have used their journals and finally decided to dive in the last week of September.  The first week of October I also added a habit tracker.  If you have been around here then you know I need accountability!  Well, filling in little blocks when I do things like wash my face at night or do my daily devotional is kind of like getting that little silver star on a chart.  It’s definitely helped me so much!  If you are interested in bullet journaling, head over to my Pinterest board for tons of ideas.

Keith and I both had allergies kicking our butt early this week.  All I had was sinus medicine but then I ran across this.  Did you guys take this as a kid?  I remember it being prescribed for me lots of times. Anyway, one dose of this and we both got an awesome nights sleep and felt worlds better the next day.  Who knew, Dimetapp is not only for children!
I truly believe God put Lysa Terkeurst on this earth just to teach me!  If you have not picked up any of her books you are missing out.  The Best Yes was amazing, Made to Crave was super but I’m definitely thinking Uninvited is going to top them!  So soaking up her words right now.  She just has such a way of making you feel almost normal when it comes to the parts of you that are or have been broken.  I think my favorite thing in the studies this week was the statement THE CHURCH HAS LEFT THE BUILDING.  Y’all, God lives though his people!  Going to church every week is great but living out his word in our daily life can transform you and others as they witness.  So, so good!
I so want to make these but am so incredibly fearful I would eat every single one!  Thinking this may be a little project for Carly Jo and me this weekend!  Beth, along with several other bloggers have been hosting a link up each Tuesday this month sharing all things pumpkin.  I have not joined in the fun but thinking next week I may have to share.  Here are the dates if you want to join the fun!

Do your lips dry out alot this time of year?  Well mine have just seemed to be cracked constantly and I finally decided to give the Rodan + Fields Lip Renewing Serum a chance.  Oh my goodness!  I am now looking forward to putting this on each night . My lips feel rejuvenated and I’m totally sold on this product.  If you have any questions please ask!!

AND a new Rodan + Fields product is being released in November and I cannot wait to try it!  I was able to order ahead of time and hopefully will be able to show you some results in a few weeks.  If you are blessed with amazing lashes I totally envy you.  But if you are like me and barely have any, this product may be something you want to splurge on!  I tried Latisse years ago and was so thrilled with my longer lashes but not so much with the $$.  So stay tuned for Rodan + Fields Lash Boost coming soon!!

Want to catch up?  This week I shared lots of fall fashion with some Business Casual attire and a little Fall Floral favorite.  I also styled the scarf I received during the Scarf Exchange hosted by Vanessa at Xtremely V and stepped out of my little box by styling it with White Jeans for a fall/winter look! Thanks again to Katie for this fun scarf.  Lastly, Katy and I shared a few tips for maintaining a healthy lifestyle through the holidays as part of our Spiel the Beans series.

The best part of a long weekend is a short week!  Our weekend is going to be a little busier than the past few but I’m hopeful it will be productive leading into the last stretch of our birthday marathon! Riley made it home early Wednesday morning just in time to celebrate his birthday on Tuesday, mine on Wednesday and Keith’s on Thursday of next week!

Hope you all have a super weekend!

  1. Dimetapp..yes to that, think I need to make sure some of that is in the house!!! Gimmie those truffle and your plaid shirt…so cute!!!! Happy weekend beautiful angel, hope its full of all things you love!!

  2. Love the tip on the Dimetapp, everyone in my house has been suffering from allergies, especially as Texas can't decide whether to be fall or still summer! Will have to buy some the next time I'm at the store.

  3. I am not even going toclick on that recipe for those truffles because I would eat every one of them myself! They look so good! I am thinking of giving the bullet journal a try! Have a wonderful weekend!

  4. So I am going to host a Uninvited study starting in November. I am so dang excited and see it being BIG in my life. I love all things Lysa and after seeing her in conference last month I love her as a person, not just as a sister in Christ.

  5. Those pumpkin truffles look amazing but my butt is big enough, thank you very much! and I know that NO ONE else in the house would eat them. Boo! A favorite for me is that I got a text message yesterday that my new Apple watch has shipped! YAY! Have a wonderful weekend and Happy Belated birthday Shelly!!

  6. Sarita….I always was so frustrated with a normal planner. I felt like it was just not structured enough for me and then the next thing I know a month was gone and there was too much white space. I really want more of a journal and a place to log my to dos for the week. I have been longing something I'm grateful for every day and that has been so fun.

  7. Oh! Well then Happy EARLY Birthday! hehehe! I will let you know what I think. I signed up for a workshop over at the Apple store at the beach! We are going there Thursday- Monday so a Saturday workshop was perfect for me! I am pretty excited!

  8. I am so lost without a to do list. But yes, it must be realistic. Although I don't mind if I don't get every single thing crossed off, because I do usually run out of gas before my ideas are completed. But I am ok with that. I enjoyed reading your post.
    🙂 gwingal

  9. When I saw Beth's post about pumpkin truffles I thought the same thing – I would eat all them! But I also think it would be a fun cooking activity to do with the girls. Hope you have a great weekend!

  10. The allergies this week have been killer around here. I have been know to take Benadryl just to get a good night's sleep when I'm congested! I need to put Uninvited on my to read list. Can't wait to see all your family birthday celebrations coming up next week! Have a great weekend!

  11. I love the beautiful Bullet Journal layouts and designs you pinned! I have a very basic bullet journal-type planner because I can never motivate myself to make it prettier, haha!

  12. I was scrolling and smiling through your post and then you made my day by sharing those truffles. So fun. Thank you so much. I need to pick up that book too. I have been wanting something to read and that may be the perfect thing.

  13. I suck at making things pretty Jess! The first time I tried the bullet journal it left me overwhelmed. My daughter's journal is so pretty!! I think I've finally found a layout that works for me. Hoping by the time October is over I will really have it down.

  14. Once I start tip toeing down the Bullet Journal pinterest rabbit hole, I don't come back up for a while 🙂 So fun cruising around checking out ideas. I also joined a group on FB (Bullet Journal Junkies) and it's another great resource to scan for fun. But I need to be better about using mine. I love setting them up! Just don't like going to them daily. Uninvited has been on my "need to read" list ever since I heard Lysa talking about it on the God Centered Mom podcast. It sounds like an inspiring book!
