Friday Favorites

Well the World Series is over and everyone in Texas has now gotten one good night of sleep!  The Astros definitely earned history and gave some hope to all those living on the coast and still working to rebuild their lives.  My favorite part of watching the World Series is being able to see the boy still shine through in all these grown men.  The excitement is contagious and I definitely have some new favorite players to follow on both teams.

Fridays use to be my very favorite days to post and I rarely stumbled finding something to post about!  It seems lately this seems harder and harder as I really want this to be somewhat meaningful but at the same time “real”.  Does that make sense?  This week is definitely going to be somewhat random so here goes!

Halloween

It actually was a stormy Halloween night and Carly Jo didn’t go trick or treating but after working so hard on her costume she was definitely not missing dressing up!  She and her friends had been planning their outfits for weeks and worked on their costumes over two sleepovers.  They opted for an hour of jumping at the trampoline park and of course all the leftover candy at home!

Flashbacks

I literally watched this movie twice on Thursday night.  It was one of my very favorites to watch in the 80’s.  I still can’t believe how many of the actors went on to really hit it big.  Is it cheesy given todays movies?  Yep, but it’s a great story and I love watching it.  If you have never seen it or read the book I definitely recommend it.  Rob Lowe and Patrick Swayze were totally hot and Tom Cruise…let’s just say his character should have given some foreshadowing!  Ha!

Insta-Stories

I love watching other people’s insta-stories and this week I kind of got a little carried away with my own!  My very favorite thing to do is use the poll function!  I was happy to know I wasn’t alone at least in my lipstick application methods although this was the minority.

I was fairly confident I would be in the majority on this one!  For those of you who give out your favorite candy first I just say go you.  It’s all peanut m&m’s and Reeses left at our casa!

  1. This is so funny, my Collin was the tin man from OZ this year at school! His high school hosted a Trunk or Treat and the NHS officers decided to be the characters from The Wizard of Oz. I need to post some pics because it was so cute. Please tell your sweet Carly Jo that my Collin’s costume wasn’t nearly as awesome as hers! In fact that morning he came to me asking if he could have a funnel and if I knew if we had silver spray paint! Seriously, at 6:20AM! He ended up bringing a roll of aluminum foil and he wrapped himself in it, isn’t that funny! Ugh, that boy of mine. Carly Jo’s costume is precious just like her!
    Have a wonderful weekend friend!

    1. Thank you Kellyann! My back patio is covered in glitter from her making that darn tutu….I told her in the future we will be ordering costumes already made..haha. I did manage to round up the silver spray paint and a funnel from wal-mart and was pretty thrilled with how this came together on Hallo-eve.

  2. Carly Jo and her buddies did such a cute job with their costumes. I just figured out last week how to do the “poll” thing. Happy Texas is proud of their team! Congratulations! ⚾️🏆 Have a great weekend girlie! XO

  3. Such cute costumes! Oh, I should really go rewatch The Outsiders, along with Stand by Me, Pretty in Pink etc. I bet they’d look a lot different with adult eyes. It does seem like the movies now are so much “glossier” than they were back in the 80s. Have a wonderful weekend!

  4. First.. those costumes are so cute!!!! And yes I use my phone ALL the time to reapply my lipstick!! lol And The Outsiders?!?!?! OMGosh I read that in school, did a book report on it and watch the movie like 100 times! Pony Boy was my favorite!! Now I need to find this so I can watch it another 100 times!
