Friday Favorites

Happy Friday!  I’m more than excited to know when I wake up tomorrow morning I have NOWHERE I need to be!  We have enjoyed three amazing weekends in a row away from home and while we had so much fun it was exhausting.  Three of us have been battling a teeny summer cold this week and the laundry has piled up.  My house did get cleaned this week but I’m almost afraid to open drawers and closets because I’m pretty sure to get ready for someone to clean I literally just shoved all the crap into hiding.

Oh, and maybe we will find a fun way to celebrate Keith since it is Father’s Day weekend!  I’m giving him the gift of bonding with his son and letting him accompany Dillon to 7 on 7 football on Saturday.  Hoping to gather with our besties for a meal and some family time on Sunday.

One

We all know the struggle is real many days and I shared some of my recent struggles on Tuesday!  I loved reading This Stage of Life?  It’s Hard To and couldn’t stop laughing and nodding the whole way through.

Two

Y’all, Pic Monkey now has curved and circle text!! I haven’t made a graphic in a few weeks and had no clue so this may be old news but it’s NEW to me.  I seriously might lose my mind over this!  Okay, maybe my life isn’t quite that boring but, y’all, this is so fun!  After you create some text you simply click on effect and the option is there to create either circle or curve text!

Three

Fresh flowers always, always make me happy!  I needed avocados one day this week and as I walked into Kroger the flowers were calling my name.  I bought several bunches and put together some simple arrangements in mason jars to display in our bathrooms and living space and it just brightened up the rooms!

Four

Date night!  Y’all, I do not even remember the last time I had this guy all to myself for dinner.  It’s been so long that I am pretty sure I talked non stop and I’m not sure he got any words in…oops.  I drive him nuts, I’m quite certain, but he still always looks at me like this and I know he even loves my crazy.  Date your husband ladies!  It’s so, so hard when the kids and the responsibilities of being a wife have zapped all our your energy but protecting the relationship between you and your spouse is huge.

Five

Loving how this outfit came together!  I put this skirt on in early March and it was a huge fail and was such an eye opener.  Y’all, I’m all about accepting yourself but I have no room in my budget to replace my entire closet.  On Thursday I pulled it out to try and was so excited it not only fit but fit comfortably!  I love this top which is on sale but only remains in limited color and size options. If you love this color (which is really more orange than it looks in this picture), here is another really cute option by the same brand and also on sale.  You can see these Target sandals are still going strong!  I ordered quite a few things to try from the Nordstrom half yearly sale and below are the keepers.  I was shocked the ruffle tank was flattering on me and was perfect for layering under a cardigan for work and I cannot say enough about the Maggy London wrap dress. The pattern I ordered is slightly different but the fabric is heavy and I feel like the style will be universally flattering on pretty much anyone.  We’ve already discussed these heels many times as they are similar to a pair I already own and wear so much I decided I needed a back up.

  1. Fresh flowers make everything better, right? I grab some at the grocery from time to time but really should do it weekly because why not! I am so happy you have a relaxing weekend to look forward to, my anxiety goes through the roof if I’m away from home too long and things start piling up, it’s always nice to relax. Your date night looks fabulous, Keith obviously adores you lucky lady! Have a marvelous and restful weekend!

  2. Dating your husband is so important! I cannot wait for next Wednesday night. I have a little date night planned for my husband and he doesn’t even know it yet. Ha! Oh my goodness, I did not know that about picmonkey. Looks like I will be figuring that out soon! Happy weekend!

  3. Super cute patriotic outfit you have going on there girl and yay for it fitting more comfortably. Hard work is paying off. I also laughed about shoving crap in the drawers…. guilty as charged. That is totally how I clean for unexpected company.

    1. So nice to not feel like a stuffed sausage in my clothes Beth! Ugh…I made a few dents today but not enough. I’ve been piling crap in the garage trying to decide if I wanted to have a garage sale or just donate….well today I hauled 4 trash bags full to Goodwill so yay!

  4. We are seriously so much alike I’m just a little scared!😉 My bathroom counter and yours could be twins from the SLAH accessories to the R+F products. (loving my AHS…how about you?) I love Pic Monkey but don’t have a subscription, just the free stuff. Do you subscribe? I’ve been thinking I probably should and now with the curved text and all it’s almost as good as done. I have photoshop (have had it for years), but it’s not very intuitive and I have a really hard time doing anything other building collages on it and then going to Pic Monkey for text, etc… I just got that orange shirt delivered this week. I ordered the black and orange. Love both but I had to get the orange in petite and it’s way too short. Katie and I just took photos of the black Wednesday for a post next week. Is it not the softest shirt EV-ER??? Have a wonderful weekend at home. Made the avocado chicken salad again yesterday. (confession…I threw in a little tiny bit of mayo for creaminess…I have to confess EVERYTHING. Kent says I’ll never cheat because I’d come right home and tell him…LOL!!!!!) Sorry for the comment that’s practically a post.🙄

    1. I know! I keep seeing that in your pictures too! I seriously miss SLAH…I loved all their stuff so much. I love PicMonkey and do subscribe. It’s just too easy and does too much. Plus now that there are templates available it really makes it easier because there is less thinking to do about font choice and layout. I love that chicken salad..mine did last 3 days and I ate every bit. So good and so easy! And that’s one more thing we have in common…I’m honest to a fault!!

  5. I will be floating in our pool, reading, going to a movie tomorrow afternoon and then dinner out with my favorite guy. Sunday is golfing with our bestie’s and then Outback Steakhouse (guys choice) for a late lunch/early dinner. I definitely am ready for some down time and just relaxing! I know you are too! Enjoy your weekend!

  6. Love fresh flowers- yours are so pretty! Well don’t feel bad about PicMonkey because I don’t even know what that means! Thank goodness for middle school students who teach me how to do stuff online! Enjoy your house this weekend!
