Getting to know my readers and other bloggers is definitely one of my favorites. Since it is the beginning of a new year, I thought a little introduction might be in order for anyone who is new to the blog.

Welcome to this little space I have come to love so much, The Queen in Between blog!  My name is Shelly and I have been blogging here since August of 2014.  I’m a Texas girl who loves my family, Mexican food and girl time! This blog is home to stories of times spent with family and friends, sharing tips for vacations and places we visit as well as a few recipes here and there.  I do have a love for fitness but also food and will share a little about how I’ve managed to find numbers, other than those on the scale, to measure my health.  As a busy wife and mom to four, you will also find me sharing my views on parenting (my craziest adventure!) and marriage along the way. Overall, this space can be found to be positive but also realistic.  If one person is impacted by one of my posts, I consider this blog a success.

I’ve shared my favorite memories and 12 favorite outfits but I thought it would be fun to share a recap of the posts most viewed by readers.  2016 was my second full year of blogging and there are 276 posts throughout the year with 152 of those sharing my sense of style. Thanks to finding the fun Blogtember prompts, September was my biggest month with 29 posts.  I hope to make it for all 30 in 2017!

Bullet Journaling

My personal favorite in 2016 was a guest post from my beautiful daughter Jordan.  She shared her bullet journal but also her heart and my momma heart grew three sizes!

My biggest blog goals for 2017 include a new layout for the blog and a more regular posting schedule that will help me manage the time spent responding to comments, creating blogposts and a blogging calendar but still allow me time to read all the blogs I find so inspiring.  The mantra for 2017 is waste not!  I want to make the most of my time and money this year.

I hope you will continue to follow along with our journey!  The people I’ve interacted with since beginning this blogging journey has been the biggest reward. Thank you for your support, your encouragement and all your kind words.

Cheers to a wonderful 2017!

  7. Shelly, your bog is one of my first stops each morning. I absolutely love your style, your fitness posts, and seeing how you balance everything while being a working mama and wife. I also love seeing how you decorate your home and you have inspired me to give back and introduce my kids to service. Have a wonderful weekend and I look forward to all the great things in 2017.

  10. Like several others said, you are always one of my first clicks in the morning. I can't wait to see what 2017 brings for you, both personally and on your blog. A new layout will be so fun, and I also share your goal in trying to get more of a blog schedule. I am totally a Google calendar gal, but I ordered a paper planner a few days ago to organize my thoughts about blogging, meal planning, etc. I will still use the computer for keeping track of appts, school holidays, etc, but I'm looking forward to keeping a paper personal calendar/journal for the year. Have a cozy weekend!

  13. Tanya, we really do live too close to not find a way to meet in person! I love following along with your sweet family. I love my online calendar for work but for some reason I just love to write things down. Can't wait to see what you have planned in 2017!

  14. I totally forgot about that floral romper!! So cute! I can't wait to see what 2017 has in store for you! And, yes, a meet up is in our cards, for sure! The holidays went by too fast!
