Friday Favorites
Friday already? I feel like I was just here! Hopefully my absence this week will be short-lived and I will get back to blogging regularly again next week. I so love this little outlet but I really did feel emotionally exhausted all week and really didn’t want to “dump” it all here! Here are a few favorites from my week.
{ONE}
I’m going to keep it real, I have not had a pedicure in over a month which is NOT my favorite! I would go every week if I could if for no other reason than I love to have my feet rubbed but there has been zero time in my schedule to make it work out. Thankfully I found this foot cream in early May and I’m telling you friends it has been life changing! I have never found a foot cream that took care of my cracked heels like this stuff has. I have actually not even been self conscious of my unpedicured feet. Bonus it is under $10!

It has not been an easy week for me. I have had one of my babies on my mind so big and I just have been feeling out of sorts. If you ever think your words cannot make an impact think again as I have had words impact me in a negative and positive way this week. Sometimes you think what you are saying is innocent enough but when someone is so closely and emotionally involved in a situation a few seemingly harmless words can really drive a dagger to someones heart. I am guilty of this myself, we all are, but I will try to think a little harder before I open my mouth from now on. I digress…one of my very favorite things this week has been the friends who get it and have been willing to pray. Some at my request and some who volunteered without me even asking. It’s huge and and I’m feeling them so big and I know my child is too. Prayer is a powerful thing and I thank everyone from the bottom of my heart.

Surprises! I love, love, love surprises and was blessed to receive not one but 3 fun surprises this week.
Seriously…sunshine in a bucket full of everything yellow? Adorable!
A personalized pouch that is the perfect size for all my extras that need to go in my purse but not get lost!
And a summer night fun bucket!
Such fun ways to brighten someones day! I have some pretty amazing friends.

Whew….we have been doing way too much dining out and I was dying for some homemade meals. Unfortunately the majority of my pantry looked like this! Keeping it real folks.
Finally made it to the grocery store on Wednesday, grabbed a rotisserie chicken and made Mix and Match Mama’s Baked Chicken Pesto Tacos. Always a quick dinner that my family loves. I also picked up a pound of shrimp and whipped up a quick dinner on Thursday.
I sauteed shrimp and garlic in olive oil over medium heat and added chili powder and salt. I ate mine over a bed of lettuce with mango pico, avocado, cilantro and a squirt of lime and Keith made tacos. Simple dinners is what I love and I so love cooking at home. We have been doing way too much dining out the past few weeks and this was a welcomed change!

Unexpected date nights! Carly spent the night with her Mimi and Aunt Amy and Dillon was gone to baseball practice so we dined on the patio and then sat talking for an hour (and there may have been some smooching). We were at home, it was not fancy but we connected and that is all you need to do to keep the home fires burning sometimes!
It’s a big weekend for us as we will head back to Fort Worth to watch the Horned Frogs take on the Aggies. Being from College Station this is not the match up I would have hoped for as I would have much rather seen both these teams have a chance to complete the road to Omaha but that was not to be. These boys have all worked so hard on both teams to get to this point and I have so much respect for what a college athlete actually goes through. It is going to be exciting and I will definitely be needing a drink.
If you are interested in a way to support those in Texas who have been impacted by the flooding, head on over to my friend Katy’s blog to find out all the details on how you can support by purchasing a t-shirt! As a bonus you get to see all her favorite things about summer!
Have a super weekend friends!
