Friday Favorites

·
Happy Friday!  It’s been a great week….and least I think it has.  Crazy how fast it goes when you are super busy isn’t it?  Sharing a few favorites from the week!

My blog friend Tanya posted this on Thursday and before I even had a chance to see it Holly emailed it to Katy and me.  Could not stop laughing!  I of course sent to Keith and let him know he needed to step up his game!
Clare @ Fitting It All In posted about choosing a path vs. choosing a destination.  I definitely think I’m a path girl but hop one to her blog to read her take on the two.
If you choose a path, you trust that whatever situations or events along the way are the right ones. You trust the process. You see where it takes you and know that it will work out.
If you choose a destination, you do whatever it takes to get you to that place. You might change paths and make difficult decisions, but you trust and accept that they are what will help you get to your goal.
I did not know about Camp Kesem until the past few weeks.  Camp Kesem serves children who have lost a parent to cancer, have a parent undergoing cancer treatment, or those parent is a cancer survivor and there are locations all over the US.  This camp is free so of course donations are the primary means of support and you can find out more by visiting the Camp Kesem page.    My friend Myriel is a med student and helping to coordinate the 5th annual Health Hullabaloo to be held tomorrow.  The 5K (register here locals!!) will raise money for camp and Carly & I are all signed up!!

The Brazos Valley is not exactly the fashion mecca of the world so having a fashion week is a big deal around here!  On three evenings, March 3, 4 & 5th, the community will come together for the love of fashion to raise money to build a fun for all playground in our town.  Last night Holly and I attended a pre-event party at our friend Steph’s store, Tres Chic (remember this top) and it was so much fun walking the red carpet for a cause.

Aren’t Steph’s lace up sandals to die for?  I’m loving them.

On the blog this week!
The weekly Queen’s Chronicles of all the fun we have been having
Sale picks including some fun Nordstrom finds which are still on sale (I ordered the shoes!!!)
A few of my favorite Pinterest Pins with room inspiration for Dillon & Carly’s rooms
Sweet little post about my girls first 5K Race Day

A special thank you to Cathy at My Side of 50 for including me in her post Lessons Learned from my Favorite Fashion Bloggers.  Also to Jersey Girl Texan Heart for featuring me as one of her favorites this week!
Lots of activities for us this weekend including a 5k, baseball and some birthday party fun.  We will be having dinner with Riley tonight before he heads to Florida tomorrow for spring training.  So exciting!  If you have time for a quick prayer for safe travels this mom would appreciate it!

  4. I think I'm totally a path girl. And let me just say, that Camp Kesem is such a good idea! I just lost my mama to cancer, and now have no parents left at 19. But, I cannot imagine what this would be like at an even younger age. Thank you Lord for creating a space for these sweet kiddos! Found your blog after you commented on mine, and it is ADORABLE! Promptly going on my blog reading list 🙂
